R.I.P Taylor
1997 - August 4, 2011

Around midnight last night my brother went out in the living room and noticed she was taking these gasping breaths, and opening her mouth when she took a breath, so we took her to the emergency vet. They put her in an oxygen cage and gave her fluids because she was really dehydrated, then took an x-ray and did some blood work to try and find out why she was breathing like that. They really couldn't find a reason, and all we could really do was keep her there overnight so she could keep getting fluids, so at around 3am we left her there (which I hated) and around 6 this morning we got the call that she had passed away. I'm sad, obviously, and I've been having these odd crying bouts off and on all day, but I'm also okay, because she lived a long and happy life, was totally healthy until last night, and had people who loved her, and for me there's comfort in knowing that.

I got Taylor for my 11th birthday. I had always really wanted a cat, so when a stray followed my uncle home when he was out walking his dogs, he and my parents decided they'd surprise me and give her to me for my birthday (he kept her for about a month before and put an ad in the paper, but no one answered it). On the day of my party, my uncle walked in with a shoebox and said I had to open his present right away. I couldn't understand why, because I thought it was a pair of shoes. I opened the lid and this cat popped her head out of the tissue paper. I named her after Taylor Hanson (LOL WHY) because that was my obsession at the time. She definitely had personality, meaning she'd be on your lap purring one minute and growling at you the next, but she was a sweet girl, and she'll be missed. Love you, Tay-Tay.
