#005: Day 01 - An Introduction
So, I took this meme from Rikka's lj! It seemed like an interesting way to get to know people and everything.
There are a lot of topics that, I know, are going to draw out really emotional responses from me too, so I think that this is a good outlet for anything I've left unsaid or bottled up (although recently I've been really good at not... bottling it up, apparently.. haha).
Anyway... Here goes!
This will be my only public entry; all others are friends only.
Day 01 - Introduce Yourself
Hey there, my name's Melody. :) ... Online, you'll probably find me as ckmel/ckmellyd most often, but sometimes I find that those usernames have already been taken (by whom, I have no idea!), so my alternative/fallback is usually merodiissii. If you happen to see any of those names on some random online community, it's most likely me so... Come say hi! :P ...
If you haven't noticed already, I have a tendency of using many smilies throughout writing informal things, like entries or texts; in fact, I have trouble writing formal emails or things like that without being tempted to use smilies, hahaha XD ... I think that they seem so impersonal and insensitive without smilies to express emotion! D: ... But alas, they're not 'professional.' :P ...
I'm currently a 19-year-olds, and I'm a sophomore in college, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I've changed my major a couple times, but I think I've finally found where I belong in this one :) ... I really love kids, and I actually worked at a day care center over the summer, which really opened my eyes to what I wanted to do in the future. Hopefully, I'll be teaching lower elementary, but younger is cool too! ... Not a fan of junior high, though. Power to you if you are, haha. XD ...
Hmm... What else... Uhh... I like to think of myself as a friendly and approachable person; I can be kind of shy at the start of friendships, but I loosen up very quickly. I'm extremely bad at starting conversations and approaching new people (I'm much better at communicating if others start first), but that doesn't mean I don't do it, haha. I enjoy meeting new people.
I am told that I am an open book: if I am happy, you'll know I'm happy - if I am upset, you'll know I am upset. Apparently, I do a very poor job at hiding my frustration; believable. Hahaha XP ... I've recently discovered (this summer, actually) that I can be an extremely jealous person. I've been trying to fix that, but I don't think it's been working..! Gotta keep working on it!
Oh! I'm Korean-American. I think that's pretty important in an introduction, haha. I'm very proud of my ethnicity and heritage, and I love being bilingual <3 ... I'm very appreciative that my parents incorporated Korean language and culture into my life, because so much of it has created who I am today, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Aaand also, I seem to have issues with procrastinating work as well as sleep. Hahahaha, like... I should be sleeping right now.
