I see lots of voting reminders popping up around these parts so I'll throw in my own. I'm allowed one during awards season, right? Right......?
Anyway, here goes:
The big one for me is of course the
Nebula voting, which closes next Wednesday, March 30th.
Any chance for a seven-way tie in my category? No? I figured as much...
Some other deadlines are also approaching, for those who vote in such things:
Hugo nomination deadline is this Saturday, March 26th.
Realms of Fantasy Reader Awards on Friday, April 1st.
If you'd like to read and consider "The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara", it is now available
online, in
audio, or I can send an e-book (MOBI or EPUB) if you drop me a message. Many thanks to everyone who has given it a look this year. Obviously a lot more people than I expected!
And that's all I have to say about that.
Speaking of Hugos, I'm excited to see many familiar names on the not-Hugo Campbell award this year:
2nd years:
- Saladin Ahmed
- Steven H Silver
- Heather McDougal
- Keffy R. M. Kehrli
- Rochita Loenen-Ruiz
- Ferrett Steinmetz
- D.T. Friedman
- Jenny Rae Rappaport
1st years:
- Francesca Forrest
- Terra LeMay
- Brad R. Torgersen
- Alastair Mayer
I wish everyone the best. But... I will single out a few names.
Saladin Ahmed was a finalist last year, and his résumé has improved since then. He is a rising star and I love his work.
Rochita Loenen-Ruiz, Ferrett Steinmetz, and Keffy R. M. Kehrli have all published excellent bodies of short fiction for new writers. All of them are second years, making this their last shot. So if you have the time and inclination, please give their work a look.
Heather is a longtime friend and a fantastic writer. Francesca is made of pure awesome, with chocolate topping. Steven H. Silver is, well, Steven H. Silver, which is very good! All three have published more than their bios indicate.
Good luck to all!
