No flooring for this weekend *sigh*

After work today, I had a set list of errands to do. First, I had to stop by PetSmart to get more foodies for the pooches. Salado had completely run out and the girls were running low. Once I got in there, I couldnt resist a 3 pack of squeezy fuzzy animals so that went in the cart along with some dried chicken. $100 later, that was done.

I came home to measure the craft room and then headed back out to Ikea so I could purchase the flooring that I was going to install this weekend...allowing the minimum 48 hours for the laminate to acclimate to the humidity of the house. I find the display and locate the aisle and shelf that it was at. I grab a cart and when I walk over, I find that they are COMPLETELY out...the pallette is gone! I could kick myself for not checking the stock online before leaving the house (I had checked it last week and they had 50+ cases so I thought I was in the clear). I had an employee check the stock and they wont be a delivery for 1 1/2 weeks...my plans are FOILED!

Disappointed, I still bought the flooring kit (has spacers and a bar for tapping the flooring) and a bag of Swedish meatballs and headed home.

I could go elsewhere to see if perhaps they have something comprable in price and color. Maybe I'll check Lumber Liquidators after work since I was browing their website earlier this week...

Other than that, things have been ok for me. I havent heard from Steve in a few days so I'm not sure if that means he's en route to Iraq or if the internet is crapping out on him.

One good thing I found out is that someone deployed with that brigade is taking LOTS of pictures and uploading them to Flickr almost on a daily basis! They had a set dedicated to Steve's battalion so I was scouring each picture to see if I could spot him, but it's hard to do when everyone looks the same...lol. I hope they keep this up throughout the deployment.

Well, now that the flooring project is on hiatus, I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do this weekend. I guess I could take down the Christmas tree...lol. And I could fix the broken tiles in the family room. And I could organize my closet and donate all the kitchen appliances to Good Wil that I dont use so I can get some more cabinet space...
