Various things going on, in no particular order.

TAing I've been procrastinating on grading papers, getting a few done here and there, but not as much as I want to. And no little elves have appeared overnight to grade them for me, damn it! I also seem to have misplaced a paper. I don't know how, since I'm very careful not to do that. I know the student got one in, because I checked them off when I got them in. Hopefully, he hasn't deleted it and can easily email me a fresh copy. Of course, as soon as he does, the other one will reappear. Such is the nature of the universe.

Kitties Spider was extra cuddly after her ordeal with being at the vet's for over 36 hours and having an IV and things poked and prodded in very sensitive parts. She's back to normal now, with her usual amount of cuddliness. Fiona seems to have decided that Spider was being too cuddly for her liking and is being cuddlier than usual in retaliation. She even let urban_exotic pet her and even purred for her! Layla is, of course, her usual silly self. The other morning, when I woke up, Layla and Spider were balanced on Jim's hip in the same pose, looking the same way. It was entirely adorable.

My feets Or just above them. I got a nasty charley horse in my right calf the other day. It was stiff the day after but seems better today. My heels have been getting dried out and ouchie so I've been slathering on the foot goo. And on Monday, I dropped my laptop on my left foot. Right where the toes attach to the foot. On the corner of the laptop, so it got the maximum weight on my foot. Of course. It hurt like hell, but after the initial couple of hours, I could bend my toes and it didn't feel like an emergency room/urgent care visit was needed. Nothing broken, just a nasty bruise. As the bruise has developed, the pain has gone down. I have a pretty spectacular bruise right now, and it only hurts when subject to direct pressure. This whole feet thing is relevant because of

The Potters Market, which urban_exotic and I are going to tomorrow! With over 300 different ceramic artists to look at, I'll be on my feet a lot! Fortunately, they seem to be in fine shape. This will be lots of fun! We may be meeting karinny there, and earthenwood has her stuff there and will be there, too!

Starwood/Brushwood Brushwood will not be hosting Starwood anymore. Right now, I don't think anyone knows where Starwood will be held. I'm not surprised, but I am sad because I know not everyone will wind up doing the same thing - either going to Starwood's new location or going to Brushwood for Sirius and/or their new festival following Sirius. I really doubt everyone I want to see will make the same choice. And I know very few people who have the time and money to afford all of the above, provided Starwood doesn't conflict with Brushwood's new festival. I suppose we'll see which way most people are going. I'm inclined toward sticking with Brushwood myself, either for Sirius or the new one. Probably Sirius. Brushwood has impressed me more than ACE has.

Academia I've been making slow progress at my own work. I meant to get X, Y and Z done this semester. I got about half of X done, poked at Y and did nothing on Z. Bleh. Progress, but not as much as I'd like.

SciFi Stargate Universe is good but flawed. Not enough to make me want to give up on it, though. I am annoyed at the mid-season hiatus and not knowing when it'll be back. The hiatuses would be easier to take if we had a more certain date when the show would be back! Sanctuary's episode last night was pretty weak, but I like the show in general. We've started watching Supernatural from Season 1, and I've been enjoying it a lot. I love their take on various urban legends. SciFi (or SyFy) still seems reluctant to let us know when Eureka and Warehouse 13 will be back, along with when Stargate Universe will come off hiatus. We'll be down to one current show for a while, since it doesn't looke like Sanctuary is going on hiatus or anything soon. Options for the open slot include watching two episodes of Supernatural, watching old Stargates (SG-1 or Atlantis) or whatever else comes to mind. We've got quite a stash, even though most of our BSG dvds are out on loan and are being missed! Also, BBCAmerica will be showing the Dr. Who specials ("Waters of Mars" and the two parts of "End of Time) fairly soon. Not sure how that will work in.

The Great Holiday Cookie Baking will start soon. Yay! Who knows how many kinds I'll make this time!

Life in General I adore my hubby. I'm looking forward to visiting relatives over the holidays. I wish I could visit all sorts of scattered friends!
