Yesterday, I organized the stuff I need to read for one of my comps papers. I've been working on this off and on, and making a mess, really. So I'm going at it from a different angle and being more systematic and hopefully, that'll help. I also took notes from a dissertation I got interlibrary loan, so I could return it today.
I also put in an application for a test-scoring job. Hopefully something in that will materialize. I need something flexible, and that would be perfect.
Then Keira called and we went off to Red Lobster for dinner. This was a good idea. Then we got ice cream (BaskinRobbins) and went back to our house to sit on the porch and eat our ice cream and talk. And talk. One of those wonderfully rambling conversations that goes everywhere. Spider came out on the porch to join us for a while. It was a very nice evening.
Today, I picked up the recording equipment so I can get some data for the other comps paper over the summer. It's all digital, so the recording equipment is actually pretty tiny. And I dropped off the book at the library. Walking on campus was lovely - on Monday it was sunny, and better for pictures, but today was very nice, too. Cloudy and promising rain, with a breeze and just the perfect temperature!
I got bad for a while about keeping up with things so that I accomplish stuff and don't let days slip by with nothing to show for them. What I mean to do is get something done in three areas every day (or as near to that as possible): work on the comps papers, do something at least resembling exercise (something that involves not sitting on my butt on the computer), and do something creative/crafty. The idea being putting fifteen minutes minimal into each of these things, and preferably more. For most things, once I get started, I put more than that time into them.
Still looking for a bicycle - keeping an eye on the MSU sites for when they get the abandoned bikes, and keeping an eye on craigslist.
This weekend is the Beltaine Campout at Ween Acres. Next weekend is Lansing Art Fest and the Cinco de Mustache party. The following weekend is Memorial Day Weekend - we're going to visit friends down in Louisville. May is pretty well booked! June isn't entirely, though there are some bits already taken up, particularly Sociofest. And whenever Lisa and Dave's midsummer/anniversary thing is. July looks more open so far, except for Starwood. And sometime this summer I want to spend more than a day or so in Wisconsin. See my folks, spend some more time with Rusty and family, etc. And come back with the best cheese, of course!
