It was an awesome weekend. Starting with some SciFi - an awesome episode of B5, where it starts to show how amazing that show got to be, the Doctor Who christmas special, which was better than I'd thought it was when I saw a lousy downloaded version (sound out of sync for about half of it), and more amazing BSG. I -really- hope the ending of the show lives up to the promise, though I'm worried about the pacing going off, since they weren't sure they were going to get a full final season what with the writer's strike. Such behind-the-scenes messes really screwed up the last season of SG1. I'm hoping BSG doesn't wind up with that sort of fate.
Jim's Dad was here for the weekend - the folks who came to SciFi got a few examples of where some of Jim's random humor come from.
Saturday, Jim took the day off because of his Dad's visit. We went to Traveler's Club for late breakfast. Then we went over to Triple Goddess. I now am up to 85 tarot decks. Then we picked up some things at Home Depot and Jim and his Dad worked on the bathroom a bit. The whole tub area needs to have the caulking stripped out and have it redone. This will be a project for the near future. We replaced both toilet seats. The vinyl was cracking. Ah, the excitement of home ownership!
Then we went over to Schuler's, where I inevitably found some stuff. Jim's Dad got some stuff on Jim's discount, which was nice. We did dinner at Claddagh. Yummy! Then came home, and watched Serenity and Hellboy. Serenity 'cause we got Jim's Dad a copy, and Hellboy because we'd been talking about Hellboy II coming out this summer.
Sunday, we went over to Bob Evans for breakfast. Jim's Dad took off after breakfast. Jim mowed the lawn, and I got started on marking papers.
Finished marking papers today. No amazingly awesome ones, but a good bunch of very good ones. And one case of plagiarism. Grrr. Why do they think we won't catch it?
This is the last week of classes. I really should have something substantial to show for the semester in terms of my own work. I have fragments. I need to pull some stuff together quicklike.
