Dean looked up at the pretty bartender after he finished another round of tequila. "How 'bout another?"

She raised an eyebrow and poured him another.

"Thanks," he smiled and threw the next shot back.

She smiled back at him and headed away, down to the opposite end of the bar where a pretty, petite blonde was seated. "You need anything?"

The woman shook her head and didn't look up. "I'm good. But thanks," she answered, studying her notes spread out before her.

Raising an eyebrow, Dean slid off his stoo and moved to sit by her. "Sure I can't buy you a drink?"

Chloe glanced up, surprised at the sudden presence at her side. "I'm all right. Thanks for the offer."

He was about to respond when he glanced down at her notes. "Bigfoot?"

A faint, somewhat embarrassed smile touched her face. "Yeah."

He laughed softly. "Load of crap."

"You think?" She looked up at him, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, I know."

That claim made her other eyebrow rise. "That a fact?" A smirk tugged at her lips.

He nodded, his own smirk firmly in place. "Oh yeah."

"Well, in that case, I guess I may as well throw all this research away."

He nodded. "Great idea."

She shook her head with faint amusement and set her pen down on the bar. "So you're a connoissuer of all things weird unnatural?"

"You could say that."

"Interesting." She held her hand out. "Chloe Sullivan."

He shook it. "Dean."

"Nice to meet you, Dean." She smiled.

"Ditto," he looked back at her research. "Seriously? Bigfoot?"

She shrugged a little, amused smile still on her lips. "There was a supposed sighting. I try to keep an open mind."

"On that, I'd keep your mind shut tight."

Chloe smirked. "I don't know. I've seen some pretty bizarre things in my life."

"Trust me. Big Foot ain't real."

"And how exactly do you know that?" she asked curiously.

"I've got my sources."

"Care to share?" She flashed him a grin.

He grinned back. "I think this is just one where you'll have to trust a complete stranger."

"Well, trust isn't generally high up there on my list of things I associate with strangers, but for you I think I'll make an exception."

"Good," he pulled out his wallet and left a twenty on the table. "Burn that research and buy yourself a celebratory drink."

"Leaving already?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Got to. Need to make sure no other pretty girls think Big Foot are real."

Big Foot is real

"I see. So you're the Damsel-in-Distress saving type?"

He shrugged, smirking. "We'll go with that."

Chloe couldn't help but grin and she picked her pen up and scratched down a single code on a piece of paper. Tearing it out of her notebook, she handed it to him.

Raising his own eyebrow, he took it, read it, then put it in his pocket. "See you around."

She doubted it, but nodded anyway. "Take it easy, Dean."

"You too, Chloe."

Chloe watched him head toward the door and smiled.
