I went to the cemetery with my grandparents today. We planted flowers at my great-grandmother's grave and a few other departed family members. It is always taxing for me to be there. Its so hard to believe that she died 20 years ago. It was only yesterday she was driving her car with me in the front seat holding the knob of her stick shift in my hand like a microphone, and singing the Mr. Rogers theme song. Or when we would stand on her back porch and yell "Yoo hoo!" off to my grandmother and grandfather, whose old house on Shaw St. was right next door to hers. Apparently this was easier than picking up the phone and calling, or walking the ten steps to their house. hey I was 4. It shakes me when I realize the passage of time.
After the cemetery, we ran to the grocery store and bought some soft rolls for sandwiches and 2 avocados. I put avocado on Chicken salad. It was a sensational hit for me and my grandmother. My grandfather asked why it was green, and what an avocado was, I figured he would not try it. He didn't.
then a quick stop at the Jiffy Lube, and auto zone to order the new antennae for my car, and I am now sitting here in bed with nothing to do. I feel like taking a nap, but Aslynn talked to me late last night and she just found out her mother has a spot on her lung. Having fought cancer already this is daunting at the least and I do not know what the rest of my day will entail. I'm gonna pop off for a little nap and then shower.
My grandmother gave me a hair cut after lunch. She was nice enough to notice, and mention, that my hair line is starting to recede. Lovely woman.
But I'm a phone call away if anyone needs me. House or Cell I'm here
