Yea, its been a while since I posted one of these, but I was going through my files and found my original document where I pasted all of the 'You know you're too into QAF when...' posts from the old Showtime board. It still cracks me up, probably because I still relate to so many of these. I still watch at least one ep of QAF a night and I'm still totally hooked on fanfic. Note the first few of these are really simply tributes to previous posters (but it gets better as you read on...).
Anyway, here's the third installment...I'll keep going until I'm done...
"You know you're too into QAF when...(Part Three)
101. I just have to say that this thread is the best support group ever. I thought I was the only one like this but to know there are plenty of others out there makes it much less crazy.lol You guys are great and the reason this show has lasted for 5 years. Believe it or not I am the only one in my little circle of friends who watch the show and so when I start talking about it they have no clue. Keep up the good work!
102. You guys are killing me.The comment about waking up with"what have you done today"in your head and working out "for Brian"?That is me all the way,its just sad but somehow comforting to know that others are as crazy as I am. Thanks! SCARY!!!!! We're all like the same darn person. Keep em coming guys
103. thanks everyone!!! work out for brian and YOUR SELVES!!! use his awesomely intelligent vocabulary!!! feel whatever you feel and Be PROUD!!! and thanks for reminding me that i had an extra copy of season one to "share". MUCH LOVE TO ALL!!! ps. it WILL get better. i'm finally feeling better today.
104. Thanks to all of you! Regardless of what my friends think,I do not need therapy, rehab,or anything else that implies I am mentally challenged for missing my favorite show! Just because I went a little ballistic on the cable rep. because my In Demand service is on the blink does not mean I am a threat to society! I miss QAF,plain and simple. At least I have prior seasons on DVD and a poster of Gale Harold on the back of my bedroom door to keep me going.
105. when you sit here and read through 5 pages of comments going to yourslf "oh my god I so do that" or "wow I have to show this to my friends to prove I'm not the only freak out there" and you remember every time that you did what someone else posted and then you cry because you know you did it while you were watching QAF and know that your heart broke last Sunday knowing you won't ever get to see it again. OK that basically just summed up my last 10 minutes of life.
106. When members of the congregation of a pentecostal or African American church stand or sit and raise their hands up to the heavens and shout "Praise Jesus" during the sermon, it resembles Emmets style of dancing with hands upraised, as commented on by Michael in Episode 113.
107. Okay, you dont watch tv anymore. except for maybe a spare half hour to full hour for a lil something special. There’s nothing worth watching any longer. and Im one of those tv people, always have been... fanfic has become the new 24/7 source of entertainment.
108. or when you pass by an art supply store youve never been in but decided, "oh what the heck", and purchase some expensive items because, "Justin would like these." geez.
109. ..when all i hear myself saying is.. " I'm sorry, that posistion has already been filled.." just to relive "that" moment on QAF. (funny, cuz i really do need to hire 2people!!)
110. When you watch Jeopardy and are happy it's in Pittsburgh. Then you really want the kid from Carnegie Melon to win!!!!
111. OK, I feel much better now after reading these entries. My contribution is having a dream about actually interacting with the characters like you are part of the show. When that happened my SO nearly disowned me! Ha Ha Ha! BTW, before the final episode, I started watching my DVD's again. I miss the show already (but now I can watch ENTOURAGE instead of on-demanding it later in the week!)
112. ...when a friend asks you what would be the best way to sum up the past year of your life and you respond "queer as folk"
113. ...or the fact that I was carrying around seasons of qaf in my purse just in case I had some spare time and a tv wherever I went
114. ...when everyone you know knows that if they ever dared to try and contact you at 10pm on a sunday they would be murdered
115. ...ohh and was able to work the whole cumming/going/staying line into a convo today and I felt sooo proud of myself it was a true accomplishment and then proceded to laugh uncontrollably all by myself while my friends stared at me and had no idea why I was laughing
116. "you know the show is over & you keep waiting for a different ending" AMEN!
117. when you walk by a very ordinary Kinney parking lot and it makes you feel extremely sad to look at the Kinney sign--(did you ever think a sign at a parking lot would play with your emotions?)
118. I was riding the train the other day and just happened to glance out the window just as we passed by a building that said KINNEY on it (which I totally took as pure fate bc what are the odds that at that exact moment I would look out the window but thats besides the point) and for the rest of the day felt so emotionally drained bc I could only think about not seeing Brian anymore.......
119. .or you rent the movie KINSEY which you had absolutely no interest in watching simply bc it sounded/reminded you of KINNEY
120. you are sitting on a airport shuttle and see a hot guy and think to yourself "I'd fcuk him" and the voice in your head is Brian's.
