It's Great Living at The Colleges
I just had my first test of the quarter. It was a quiz in BIS 104. Ack! I hope I did alright b/c I've been doing poorly in my upper division Bio classes. I studied so much...well, it was a lot for me... for that. Other than the test, I kinda like this class. It's a lot better than the other upper division bio classes that I've taken. This might be a reason to why I studied more.
Besides being so close to campus, The Colleges offers a lot of entertainment. This includes a fire-show and a peacock.
On Sunday night, after
cal671087 drove me back to the apt. (THANKS, Kenji!),
ouran611 and her club were having a meeting and wanted to go to Ohana BBQ for food. One of the guys noticed smoke coming for the dumpster and investigated. Someone had dumped charcoal in the garbage. Pretty soon, it was not smoke anymore, but a real fire. The Fire Dpt. was called. It took them longer than expected. The UCD Fire Dpt. was about 3 blocks away. I thought they would get there in like 5 min. Anyway, I can understand how it was not really a priority so they did not need to super rush it. I took pics with my phone cuz it was just that memorable. I only have 2.
The fire...We just stood around looking at it. It would have been interesting if that tree caught on fire b/c there was a BMW parked right underneath it. That didn't happen though.
The fire truck with its super bright lights. It was a good thing that the BMW moved. Better safe than sorry...
Peacock in Davis! When I came back from Bio today, I saw a peacock wandering around The Colleges. I went back to the apt to get my phone. When I got back outside, it was already crossing the street and almost got run over by a van. Poor thing. Anyway, I was amazed to see a peacock since I wasn't at the zoo. I only got one pic of the bird and it sucks.
You can barely see it, but it's the little thing in the shadow of the tree. I should have taken more pics. O well. It was nice seeing it.
