Yuletide 2019! Where did the years go?!
Dear Yuletide Writer:
Making the yuletide gay, one year at a time! Some of these fandoms I've requested before, as recently as last year, and some of them are new to my list. All of them are beloved. So without further ado...
Yay, we share a little fandom! I offer ideas and details here to give you insight into the things that I like or the ways that I view the canon and characters, but they're all meant to inspire and not to limit. If none of it speaks to you, just take the fandom and character request and go your own way. I'm pretty open to different interpretations and enjoy being convinced of things I might not have thought of myself.
Overall, I have pretty broad tastes, both in terms of content and in terms of style. I enjoy character interaction and relationships of all kinds and in any combination of genders, romantic or otherwise. From porn to gen, from shoot-em-up action to character study, and from domestic to dark, it's all something I'm open to. I'm also interested in both traditional narrative styles and more experimental formats (with a particular fondness for epistolary when it comes to experimental).
I'm fine with holiday stories (for any holiday) if that's your pleasure; while I'm not looking for them specifically, some canons lend themselves to it. I also welcome original characters, if that's something you're into--I think the dynamic of introducing an original character as a significant other into an existing friend- or family-group can be really interesting. I don't tend to have an OTP in any fandom; while there might be pairings I like to explore more than others, a good story can convince me of anything.
I enjoy fork-in-the-road or divergence from canon AUs ("What if Fred had chosen the red door instead of the blue door?") and often suggest them as options; when it comes to AUs that recast the characters in an entirely different scenario ("What if the Avengers were a baseball team?") I really only lean towards them in RPF fandoms. Crossovers and fusions are tricky because they're hard to enjoy if I don't know the second fandom, and it's hard to know if I know the second fandom, but I certainly don't object to them if you can be confident that I do.
I tend to narrow my requests to one or two characters, but that doesn't mean I'm looking for them to the exclusion of everyone or everything else. It's just a focal point to allow for the broadest possible set of options. :)
Things I particularly enjoy (not all of which will necessarily be applicable or compatible): complex relationships, romantic and otherwise; the supernatural and paranormal; forgotten places; academic settings (higher learning); LGBTQ themes (including coming out) and general worldviews that still incorporate LGBTQ people when they're not the focus; roadtrips of all kinds; found family; bees
Things I don't particularly enjoy: bodyswap; amnesia; plots that revolve around misunderstandings, especially ones that are easily resolved if people just communicate; evil with no underlying motivation or logic; significant power imbalances in romantic or sexual relationships (including but not limited to D/s and teacher/student); serious or terminal illness, especially cancer
Notes specific to explicit fic: Likes: just about anything oral, including sucking, biting, etc.; trying again when something isn't perfect; laughing/happiness during sex; spanking, fingering, manhandling. Dislikes: A/B/O and knotting; ageplay; D/s.
If you're new to Yuletide, or if you're stressing at all, the most important thing to remember is no matter what happens or what you write, you will not Ruin Yuletide for me. So don't sweat it. ♥

Coroner (TV 2019)
Ross Kalighi, Matteo (Coroner TV 2019)
Three months elapse between Ross’s father’s death and the beginning of the show. What was Ross and Matteo's relationship like during those months? Matteo also likely would have been there at the pool when Ross's father collapsed. Were they out before that, or did that moment bring it out in the open? Or maybe they weren't even together before that. I'm just really interested in seeing a glimpse of that time period.
Doing Time on Maple Drive (1992)
Matt, Kyle
Post-movie: after Matt comes out to his family, I'd be interested to see him reconcile with Kyle and see if something between them will work now. Where do they go from here? There's a happy life waiting out there for Matt. Pre-movie, were they out-ish at school with a circle of friends that knew about them? Maybe Matt re-enters that world. Or maybe he's starting from scratch and discovering that whole world for the first time. I'm also interested in seeing how he relationship with his family changes after the movie, especially his relationship with his siblings.
Justified
Tim Gutterson
Tim ended up being a little bit of an enigma on the show. Sure, we got to know a bit about his background, but I think they never a hundred percent decided where they wanted to end up with him. Well, we'll just have to decide for them. I favour a queer reading of Tim, but canon can go any which way so you do you. What I want is something a little behind the scenes. Pull back the curtains on Tim Gutterson. Show us his personal life. Show us where he's at when he's not on duty. Show us what he loves and what he hates and what he values. That said, I love casefic - or, with Justified, it may not be a case per se but general duties of the Marshal's office - and what better way to show us his personal life than in contrast to his work life. Or maybe his personal life is very much like his work life. I don't know yet! You get to tell me that.
The Broken Hearts Club
Dennis
At the end of the movie, Dennis leaves to find himself. Well...what does he find? I'd love to see what changes or what doesn't when he comes back to LA, and how his relationships with his friends evolve. What adventures does he have when he's away? Really, anything post-movie that involves Dennis is all good with me. I like the idea of Dennis and Kevin working out in the end, but if you have different ideas I'm all good with that, too.
Romeo and Juliet
What would it have been like if Romeo and Juliet had been a comedy and not a tragedy, with Shakepearean tropes still abounding but taken from the other side of the coin? Problems that involve mistaken identity and consequences that involve ass's heads, not revenge and murder and suicide. And of course, a happy ending of some description: maybe Romeo and Juliet, but maybe something else entirely too. When people make different decisions, all kinds of things can happen.
What would it look like if nobody died, if beefs and grudges had been handled with benign--or at least humorous--consequences, if the people who ended up together were not necessarily the people you expected to? Maybe Romeo and Juliet ran off together. Maybe Juliet decided that actually, she wanted something loftier out of life, and forget boys anyway. Maybe Paris ended up with an ass's head or a pig's tail...just for a little while. Maybe Mercutio abandoned them all for a life on the stage. Or maybe Romeo ran off with Mercutio, and Juliet travelled Europe instead. Maybe Paris changed his mind and fell for Rosaline, or Tybalt. I place no limitations on where this might go, or just who might be involved in the remixings, retellings, and shenanigans.
