oh my god this was all kinds of perfect. Just... words escape me. The characterization, the way you used what happened in the past to justify what was happening now... sighs.
I'm just kind of floored by this fic. There were so many things I loved, starting with your Katy -- I think it's the first time a fic has really made me love Katy, not just like her or accept her, and that was so wonderful and important because it was the only way the rest of it could have worked.
And the rest of it did work, so, so well. I loved the slow realization on all of their parts that Kris's feeling for Adam were not only real but also permanent, and that Katy's the one who figures out that that can be a good thing, if they let it.
I love that Kris's love for both of them is so strong it's almost tangible, and that they love him back enough to let that be okay.
And lastly, on the subject of tangibility, this line:
"I'm so in love with you it hurts," Kris whispered, and Adam made a sound like a sob into his shoulder.
It's one of those lines where I actually felt something clench inside me.
Wow, this is such an amazing comment. Thank you! Kris being absolutely in love with both of them was a huge, huge part of this story, so I'm so glad that it came through as well as it did. The choices they had to make weren't easy, so they needed to be worth it. :)
