Civilization! Technology!!
Just got back from a two and a half day vacation to my mom's trailer at the lake. Though saying "the lake" is like saying we were near "the tree". But anyway, it wasn't too bad. My mom, my brother and I left the house on Wednesday morning and spent the day fishing. (I didn't fish since I didn't have a license, but that wouldn't have stopped me if I wanted to) Thursday morning, we got into the rental car and spent 3 hours driving up to Niagra Falls. We stayed on the American side since my mom's boyfriend is a felon in Canada and not welcome there. That's what getting a DUI FIFTEEN years ago does to you. So remember! Don't drink and drive! It'll keep you out of Canada! Ok, keep veering off-track here. So we saw the falls, which was cool, but it's just a big waterfall. Not much to do. After that, we spent the next few hours in the casino losing money. Except for mom's boyfriend, he won a thousand bucks on a video poker machine. We got home around midnight and all went to sleep. Friday morning (today) me and my brother came home, and there we are. My lovely mini-vacation.
I also realized I didn't post this, but my brother came home earlier this week for his two week break from service in Iraq. He goes back on the 15th, but will hopefully be back for good by Thanksgiving. So that's why we had a rental car. And we drove it for 10 hours out of last 60! Thanks for the unlimited miles, Avis!
