Today I decided to reserve my hotel room for Nekocon, even though it's not till the first weekend of November. I got a confirmation e-mail of my hotel room reservation at the Embassy Suites. It's cool because you get a free breakfast buffet and manager's reception. I also stopped by Thompson Cleaners to pick up my shirts which had a hole on the right side of the sleeve where the elbow was. There were 5 that needed fixed and I didn't want to throw away good shirts. The kicker was that I had to provide the fabric, so fortunately the fabric place on Kirkwood Highway was going out of buisness and had 60-70% off everything, but what sucked was I had to buy a minimum of 2 yards, which all total came to close to $27 (that was last week). So I brought the fabric to the same cleaners that day and explained that I had to buy that much for the minimum amount. the lady at the counter couldn't believe it. Well anyway, when I picked up the shirts, the tailor but patches on both sleeves, because having a patch on one sleeve would look silly. So this is where my haggling skills came handy. The total came to $60, so I asked since I brought (& bought) the needed fabric, could you give me a break on the price. She reduced $5 more, so it came to $55. Heh, I'll take it. Originally, the cost per shirt would have been $16 (!!). either way, I still made out alright.
