There is no sub-text anymore...Just big pink elephants and people wearing het goggles.

Since Con.text last month, I have been watching a few more shows: Psych, based on an AWESOME panel that I went to; White Collar, based on the threesome poster with bondage overtones, and Haven and Covert Affairs, for their kick-ass female leads. The last two just snuck up on me and were a total surprise.

Of all of these, Covert Affairs is the only one that doesn't yet have a clearly defined and central to the plot gay relationship in it.

I'm serious. To watch these shows, and NOT see the gay? You'd have to be wearing seriously thick het goggles.

In Psych, for example, Gus and Sean are so, so, so together that it is clear any woman either of them meets doesn't really stand a chance.

In White Collar - well, if you have seen the show, then all I need to say is that this week I watched the most romantic airport star-crossed-love farewell since Casablanca. OMG.

In Haven we have a bad case of love gone dark. Deputy Nathan and Duke the smuggler CLEARLY have a history. At some time in the past, Duke betrayed Nathan in some unforgivable way, and Nathan is still working out his anger issues - sometimes on Duke's face, and sometimes on his boat.

Nothing has come up in Covert Affairs yet, but I'm SURE it will.
