SIFRP Report - August 15th

Took last week off driving a friend to Missoula. Hit a deer on the way back. We are OK the deer, not so much. Got back to Narrating the story of House Glastone again this Monday. This is the third session, updates can be found in Winter is Coming: Geek's Dream Girl article from August 11th and the first SIFRP Report on July 19th.

The brothers Glastone Eddard and Sigurd have traveled to the Riverlands with there sister, Lady Sorcha and the House steward Nicoli. They visited the House Mallisters of Seaguard and then traveled south towards Fairmarket to the Oldstone's Tournament (the biggest tourney in the Riverlands).

Lady Sorcha competed in the archery and did very well indeed. A few other ladies also competed in archery. Eddard and Sigurd where both brought down by the mystery Knight bearing the device of the extinct House Mudd. Eddard's arm was broken and Sigurd's collarbone was busted. Nicoli embarrassed House Glastone with intemperate questions about Ser Patrek, heir of House Mallister.

After the tourney the Glastones found rest at Ginger's Kiss a humble Inn at Fairmarket. There the brothers rested and healed so they might travel North by the Kingsroad. News of Jon Arryn's death was all around. Eddard dismissed Nicoli from the service to House Glastone. As the family was getting ready for their journey. Sorcha walked in on her handmaid, Charlotte Snow (a bastard daughter of her brother, Eddard. She didn't know it was her niece only Eddard and Nicoli knew the secret). Charlotte was in coitus with a muscular, large, hairy man. A ser coat on the floor had the device of House Mudd (the mystery knight's device). Sorcha yelled at him and when he turned a bandage obscured his visage. She tried to hit the man but he just laughed and started to dress. He threw some money on the bed to Charlotte. Lady Sorcha ran down the stairs of the Inn screaming for her brothers, they were nowhere to be found. Owian a new companion, good with coin, was there paying the innkeeper. She screamed at him to do something as the mystery knight came downstairs and exited the backdoor. Owain did nothing, smart, smart, Owain. Sorcha grabbed a pitcher and some plates and threw them. They missed and shattered on the wall. Owain paid for them while Sorcha pursued the man, who mounted his horse and galloped away. She finally found her brothers. They were busy loading up in the livery, preparing to travel.

Eddard made Charlotte give him the money (she kept some) to return to the knight if they ever encountered him again. He also told Sorcha and Sigurd who Charlotte is (he didn't tell Charlotte). The man headed north while the Glastones were headed south to the Inn of the Kneeling Man and then east to the Kingsroad at Lord Harroway's Town. On the roads they heard that King Robert was traveling north along the Kingsroad with a very large retinue. The queen and his children were all with him.

Owain proved himself a good negotiator and the brothers injuries eventually healed (although Sigurd did spend a Destiny point be sure of it). The brothers also have squires. Lewys Piper of House Piper, a boy of ten and Jenkins Hill, sixteen, a bastard of Stefford Lannister.

At a banquet hosted by Lord Roote at Lord Harroway's Town the Glastones ran into the King's outriders led by Ser Boris Blount accompanied by the Imp, Sigurd's friend (from the tourney), Tyrion Lannister. Sigurd and Tyrion went out gambling and whoring (Sigurd lost a bunch of stags). Eddard contented himself with one of Lord Roote's serving wenches. Sorcha went to bed early with only two handmaids for company. Charlotte stole away with a knight traveling with Ser Blount.

And that's about it. I'm sure I missed things, but the players will fill me in. These were the high points. Not much happened, but things are peculating under the surface and excitement is about to unfold. Really...
