Gaming at the SGC was subdued for me this weekend. A dear friend of mine told us that he probably has
Lupus. Blood tests are pending, but systemic lupus is the probability. I have to say, he put the best face on it and was very positive about how he'll deal with it. He and his wife love gaming and I think that will remain a positive factor in helping them face this illness.
We all talked about the fun we're planning to have at
MisCon. It is only a little more than two months away on Memorial Day weekend. We should have about twenty Sandbaggers there this year. There always looks like a lot more of us because we give out a hundred t-shirts every year. We have a room on party row that we keep open for gaming, conversation and free refreshments during the entire con (Room 260, same as every year).
I'm working on a new RPG one-shot for the opening night of the MisCon (after the opening ceremonies. I wouldn't miss those). I hope to have it ready for a playtest by mid April. I have the concept and story down, right now I'm developing the characters - their backgrounds and motivations. Research is coming along great, I'm rereading one of my favorite books (a history book) and I picked up a new anthology (fiction) from library for inspiration on the twist in a familiar tale.
varianor has to get some credit for this since he turned me on to the author who's short story inspired this idea.
Last year's MisCon T-Shirt.
