Marzena (3)
Entry 2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alvin Marzena - Male Adult - Pleasure - Aries - LTW: Have 50 1st Dates - Major: Math
Subira Rauscher-Marzena - Female Adult - Popularity - Aries - LTW: Become Celebrity Chef - Major: Art
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last Entry: Subira and Alvin returned to Breeze Point after graduating from uni. They moved into a house and started trying to find a job.  Subira had a harder issue with finding a job as a Celebrity Chef, which the two figured was because there are so many of them in this hood. They got a dog named Scout and then Subira announced she was expected at the end of the round. (Due to the Author forgetting that Risky WooHoo was installed.)

FAMILY TREES:

You should be able to click on the pictures to get a better look at the family trees. This is a family blended of two of the founding families.  It's, I believe, the second family we have managed to make of two founding families (the first being the Kimon and Isleen families through Biyu and Franz.)  Alvin Marzena is the adopted son of Ame and Ricky Marzena.  Ame was a founding teen and came here with only his toddler brother Denis, whom we just saw become an elder earlier this round. He has 4 1/2 brothers and sisters through the alien kids both of his dads have had. He has two cousins from Denis' trysts around town in Falkor Dai and Kofi Yerazig. This is still one of the small families in the hood.

Next, we take a look at the Yerazig family, whom Subira hails from.  This was one of the larger starting families, have 4 members when they moved in.  Eniola is the family patriarchy and died right before Subira was born.  His daughter Akinyi brought two daughters with them to move into Breeze Point, the twins Ekene and Kirabo. Shortly after moving to the neighborhood Akinyi met and fall in love with Bruce Rauscher. They got married when Akinyi found out she was pregnant with Becca, and Subira, Enu and Zuri followed.  Currently Subira and Alvin have no children, but a baby is on the way, and he or she will have 5 cousins from this side of the family in Becca's daughter Yu, Ekene's son Kofi (who is also related on Alvin's side through his uncle Denis) and Kirabo's 3 kids, Lenna, Ataro and Amara.

To You,

Yeah you, whoever is reading this.

I haven't written since I was in the first part of university, so I figured I should probably try and write some.  Ok, so, for starters Alvin and I got married a while ago.  He is sweet, and I love him. I really want to become a Celebrity Chef, but it took me forever to get a job. Alvin says he already reached everything he wanted in life when he met me.  I always tell him that's a load of crap. I may be who he ended up with, but I know he had just wanted to date around. Anyway now he wants to be a game designer and almost has made it.

Anyway, I thought Scout needed a playmate so we went down to the pet store and found a cute little female dog we named Queenie.

Then Alvin decided to completely redo the house.  It was insane, and not something you should be doing to a pregnant lady, but the end results actually turned out really nice, so I couldn't complain too much.  Both dogs had a place to sleep and eat.  We had a nursery and an office and a bedroom all ready to go. The outside looked really nice too.

Alvin spent most of his time studying up things for his work.  He really wanted to become a game designer before the baby was born I think. That left me to try and completely my cooking skills. I also did a lot of painting during this time too. I had to do something to keep myself busy this last bit of my pregnancy. I did so much I feel like I can almost not love art any more than I already do.

Alvin was great during the pregnancy.  I usually took care of Scout, he's a really messy little dog, and it turns out Queenie is too, but I couldn't always get down to wash the dogs so Alvin had to take over. The dogs get along great though, and we are pretty sure we are expecting puppies.

Alvin did reach his goals and became a game designer before I had the baby.  We sat down one night and discussed how his next dream is really to become Mayor. I never knew he had any desire in politics, but that's what he wants.  So he entered the politics race as soon as he was able to.  I'm sure he will one day be Mayor. All I could think about at the time really was how hungry I was, and how tired I was of being pregnant. The pregnancy had been really easy, not like some people I know of.  I almost never had morning sickness, no big cravings, and never felt like I couldn't still do the things I wanted to.

It turned out I didn't actually have much longer to wait because that very night I woke up with horrible labor pains. How my mom had managed to have 6 kids was beyond me.  I know she wanted lots of kids, but I'm not sure how gung ho I would be to have more kids. Anyway, after what felt like pain that lasted for hours a gentle peace came over me and the next thing I knew I was holding a baby girl in my arms. We hadn't talked about names very much, but in the end, we settled on Kagiso, which means peaceful.  She is adorable and looks just like her dad.

I decided, since winter was ending I wanted to get a garden going again.  Having all those vegetables was great in college and I studied up on it, and juicing them is also really great to help kids be successful.  I'm not 100% sure I understand how it works, but I want Kagiso to have all the opportunities she can to get what she wants.

Unfortunately, we had to hire a nanny for a little bit.  I've always heard really bad horror stories of parents leaving their babies with nannies.  So Alvin and I took our time and tried to find a good one.  The first day, when I called her to come take care of Kagi I was so nervous.  We had nannies cams installed and everything.  She did a terrific job.  She even, bless her heart, picked up the bottles that had gotten left out and played with Kagi until Alvin was able to get home.  He gave her a great tip and told her we would call her again as soon as we needed her.

Alvin has, just as I expected, turned out to be a great dad.  He doats on her. I do love that man, and I suppose I can understand why people want more than one kid. Still, not sure it's time for another yet. (AN: I have some "rules" in place for what causes a couple to try for baby, and they rolled it.  Luckily, I think with the dogs pregnant it didn't work, cause I didn't want them to have another kid just yet.)

The dogs did have their puppies, four of them to be exact.  We gave all four up for adoption.  I'm sure a family who really wants a lot of dogs will give them a wonderful home.  There were 2 girls and 2 boys.  Before we sent them off we named them Ramon, Steve, Kim, and Jess.

I couldn't even believe it when Alvin reminded me it was almost time for Kagiso's birthday.  We threw a big party and invited as many of our friends and family as we possibly could.  It was quite the affair and it seems like everyone had a really good time.  My sister Zuri and our nephew Kofi even came by from college.  They have always been really close, practically raised like siblings instead of aunt and nephew.

We had a cake that we bought for the occasion and Alvin brought her to the cake and tried to blow out the candles.  There was a little mishap and we ended up having to do the whole candles being blown out thing again.  This time I took over.  I'm not sure exactly why Alvin bent so close to the candles and everyone is ok, but there we now have a toddler running around.

It was a great party, but right after that, I had to focus on the garden again.  I was looking forward to having fresh produce to cook with.  I wanted to run a segment about it on my show. I have become a celebrity chef just like I always dreamed. I don't know how much longer I'll keep doing that.  Somehow, having Kagiso has made me want to spend more time focused on being a mom.  Time will tell.

We got started right away on toddler training.  Kagi is so smart.  Before we even knew it she was potty trained, walking, and talking all over the place.  She spends most of her free time with the rabbit head.  I remember playing with it when I was a little girl too, although this one seems like a slightly newer model.

Now that she is a toddler I feel so much closer to Kagi.  I always loved her, she was my daughter, and I would die for her, but it's fun to have her respond to things we do and to talk back to me. I'll probably regret saying that someday, but whatever.

I wasn't completely sure how the dogs would handle Kagi, especially a mobile Kagi. Scout was the first to really go investigate this new little walking human and he was so gentle with her.  Such a good dog and Kagi was also very gentle with Scout.  I think they will be fast friends.

I decided to put my love of art to work and decided to paint a picture of little Kagiso to hang in the house.  I hope someday she will want to continue taking care of this house, and maybe us when we get older. I know mom has loved having Ekene home with her and dad.

Right after Kagiso turned into a toddler we didn't get out of the house much.  So instead, we decided to invite a lot of family over.  Alvin invited his dad's and siblings to all come over as well as his uncle Denis.  They hadn't really had a chance to meet Kagi and we thought it was time.  One of Alvin's siblings, Arabella, was instantly taken with Kagiso and just swooped her up like she had known her her whole life.  They were pretty inseparable that day unless Arabella was talking with her twin.

My family all got to come over too.  Sadly not everyone was able to make up, but I had most of my brothers and sisters there, and my mom and dad.  Mom was totally smitten with her granddaughter.  Although not the first, I don't think she feels like she's spent nearly enough time with Kirabo's kids.  At least not as much as she would like.  It was another very fun get together and we are happy to have so much family close by.

Well, I hear Kagiso starting to wake up from her nap so I should probably stop for now.  Alvin is going to be home late as he is campaigning more today. I'll be glad when the Mayor decision is made.

Subira
