The Big Green Egg

A few weeks ago Russ come home with a new grill called the Big Green Egg. Russ is all about the American made products. We had been looking at new grills but nothing fit Russ standards. Matt who is Russ good friend and boss got an Egg about three months ago. Russ has been talking about this ever ever since Matt got this. I did not get it at first but now that we have I love it.

The basic of the Egg:

The Egg is a ceramic cooker, if can be a smoker, grill, and oven. The ceramic walls help maintain a most constant and accurate temperature. Unlike a metal grill that gets hot the Egg stays cooler. It is waterproof ceramic and will not rusty. The Egg uses lump charcoal so not lighter fluid is needed. Not wasting unused charcoal either, left over an be reused. The grill can be used year around even in the rain or snow.

There are five different Egg sizes. We have the medium and works great for the two of us. Now Matt has the XL but he also a honest very often at his house. The Egg can control temperatures from 0F to 800F. This give you to options to slowly smoke food or sear a steak. When cooking on the Egg is retains moisture so there is little shrinkage and drying out of food. So food taste juicy and moist every time. The temperatures is control be the lid and a damper door. The Egg is self cleaning and will burn off any greases inside.

The Egg comes with many Eggcessories. Eggcessoires help you be able to use the Egg for more things. There is a nest for the Egg to move it around it or tables to place your Egg into also. There is also shelves for the side of the Egg if you are using the nest. There is lumps charcoal and fire starts. There is a plate setter which turn the Egg into the oven, because it cause indirect heat. There are tiers to help have more shape to cook. There is also grids, racks and roaster to help cook different types of meat. There are also specialty pan to cook dutch oven or veggies. There is also baking stone to make pizza and bread on. There is also Egg seasoning and Egg clothing wear.

I am happy to say we are Egg head now and own this amazing grill. I am looking forward to learn how to control the temperature more and become and Egg grilling expert.

I got Russ the Plate Setter for his birthday.
