Sniffle! there is hope for you Americans after all. At least in some enclaves. I am so, so glad your marriage has the opportunity to be the first of many without further obstructions.
There are no more obstructions, are there? It is over in MA?
Dancing at yet one more step on the road to freedom and equality.
Well, it's as over as we can get it right now. The antis, you know, the folks who kept saying that it was all the fault of unelected judges, have discovered that they don't trust their elected representatives[1] and are vowing to fight on.
However, at this point there's basically no way they'll get anything passed, and even if they did they'd have to start from scratch and it'd be several years before it could come to the ballot.
[1] Including comments wanting investigations into why some people changed their votes, and wanting the courts to rule on whether it was legal...hey, wait, wouldn't that be activism from judges?

Girl, the opposition is about as dead as being staked through the heart, tossed into the sunlight, and hosed down with holy water can make them!
That said, year of experience says that christofascists are persistent bigots. I am sure that their activist corps wants to struggle on, but I am equally sure that their rank and file membership and their donor base are deeply disheartened. This is the third time that we have killed their proposed constitutional amendment in the legislature since 2003. The experience with Civil Unions in Vermont was that the opposition gave up after three election cycles of struggle.
I am cautiously optimistic that this is the end, and that same-sex marriage is now safe and permanent in Massachusetts.
