Soooo.. I was complaining because this guy got all mad because I was irritated at all the work I had to put into his little forum game. Laurie convinces me to finish my character and I do, and the game gets going.
First off, we have no frickin clue what's going on in said game. He just says basically, "You are in a city.. GO!" So I'm all "Okayyy... I guess my character is looking for a bar.." and suddenly this giant riot breaks out right in the square. My character gets caught in the middle (mind you, she's a 14 year old girl) and just wants to run away but people are grabbing her and Laurie's character is trying to nab her for some other story reason that I am as yet unaware of. Guards start attacking our characters and the mob starts attacking and everything is incredibly bizarre and chaotic. My character tried to run away three times and even though I rolled fantastically, still managed to get caught.
I was annoyed, but in respect of the plot train I rolled with it. Just as we seem to finally break free of this riot of NPCs he has a bunch of -chariots- roll in and attack our characters. FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL. FARMER. My character was like "Holy shit!!" and just wanted to run away, again.. so then he's all "Okay, you guys run away" but gives us NOTHING else to go on. At all. He doesn't give us any setting to work with so I say in the OOC thread "Soooo what options do we have.. can you just post and kind of set a new scene for us to work with." He messages me on aim all upset because of my request. "What do you mean?! You have plenty to work with! I gave you lots of details!!" and I said "Noooo.. you didn't.. I have no clue what my character can do or where she can go. Can you just post some little blurb of like, where they end up and what they see? I need some direction, it's YOUR world." and his reply??
"No, I don't think so."
I'm like.. wtf?! All I was asking for was a little more to work with. He goes on to explain that we managed just fine so far, and I don't need any more detail. Now.. call me CRAZY.. but when a player in a game ASKS FOR MORE.. is it right to ARGUE with them about it? It's not like I was trying to change his world or anything. So I said "I told you how I felt. And you want to argue with me and tell me I'm wrong."
And he immediately gets super-defensive and logs off.
