A rec list for challenge 3 in keepers_log!
Bands/Singers and their songs:
The last band to be one of my all time favourites is Glass Animals. They are an electronc band and I would recommend to listen to "Pools", "Life Itself" and "Gooey" (and its remix by Gilligan Moss).
Another great band which I feel is underrated is Bloc Party. They're actually touring right now for their old album "Silent Alarm", which includes "Helicopter" and "Like Eating Glass". However, my all time favourite song by them is "Signs" (especially its live version).
I also want to recommend a Lithuanian artist - gJan, who I saw live this year and loved it so much! Besides great Lithuanian tracks like "Ruduo" and "Melagė", she also amazing English ones like "One More Drink", "Tattoo" and "Not Afraid", which was her first single.
Fanfics:
This one is fun, since I used to recommend fanfics in a monthly post :D Enjoy my Stucky fan recs:
I recently finished "Then I'd Be Another Memory" by Kellyscams (whose fics are always amazing), "turn back into stars" by crinklefries, "Finders Keepers" by leveragehunters, "Chase the Lightning From the Sky" by SilverSlashes and TrishArgh, "Citius, Altius, Fortius (Faster, Higher, Stronger)" by MarcellaBianca and I loved them. I would also recommend the WIP "Baghdad Waltz" by Dreadnought (it's so good but made me cry multiple times) and "War, Children" by Nonymos, which I have reread at least a good 15 times and keep going back to it because I know it will break my heart very well.
3Books:
My all time favourite book is "The Martian" by Andy Weir (I've connected all my uni literature work with it, I love it so much). I also really enjoyed reading "1984" by George Orwell and "Between Shades of Grey" by Ruta Sepetys. If you have access to the English version (or can understand Lithuanian), I would also recommend reading "Dievų miškas" ("Forest of the Gods") by Balys Sruoga, a Lithuanian classic about the real life events about the author being exiled to a concentration camp.
Movies:
I'm a huge MCU fan! My absolute film from it is "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". I also love "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", "Black Panther", "Spider-Man: Homecoming", "Spider-Man: Far from Home". Besides MCU, I recently watched "Knives Out", "Booksmart", "Dumplin'" and absolutely loved them. "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse" had breathtaking animation.
TV Shows:
I'm a sucker for everything from dramas to comedies. For a comedy fan, I would recommend "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", "One Day at a Time", "The Good Place" (I recently started and I'm loving the first season), "Chuck" and "Jane the Virgin". For more serious TV, some great shows include "Mr. Robot" (the current season has exceeded my expectations), "This Is Us", "The Bold Type" (it might look silly but it tackles some serious topics), "How to Get Away with Murder" and "Castle".
Youtube Channels:
Recently I really have been into music YouTubers, which are a great resource of amazing music and how it is made! For reviews of contemporary songs, horrible albums, one hit wonders, amazing year-end lists and horrible predictions you should absolutely watch Todd in the Shadows. The guy who commonly "interrupts" his videos, Rap Critic, also has some amazing year-end lists and makes me think about songs in a completely different way. I have been following youngerdays for a while now and his videos almost always bring me nostalgia and make me smile/laugh/remember a great song I've forgotten. David Bennett Piano is an amazing learning source. I especially love his new videos about word painting and the Locrian tone.
