Scandinavian Songs celebrates (in yen)
Last week Scandinavian Songs had two reasons to celebrate. Songs from the Swedish company was number one on the japanese single and album charts in Japan.
MI (MusikIndustrin = the newspaper) has previously reported about regular japanese successes for songwriters employed by Scandinavian Songs. Last week they hit the jackpot. Songs from the company's composers topped the single and album charts. The song in question on the single chart was "Open Your Eyes" by the group NEWS, written by Fredrik Hult, Thomas G:son and Carl Utbult. KAT-TUN took the first place on the album chart with "Break The Records", which includes the success-single "Rescue" written by the trio Tord Bäckström, Bengt Girell and Jan Nilsson.
It is also confirmed that Stockholm once again will be visited by the japanese duo Tegomass, with Tegoshi Yuya and Masuda Takahisa from previously mentioned NEWS. Their last visit was in November 2006 was a huge success with media coverage beyond the expected and a popular performance at Spy Bar. Scandinavian Songs' Hawk Records hit the jackpot and had a gold-record with the single "Miso Soup" by Stefan Åberg and Shusui.
Saturday, the 30th of May, Tegomass is once again appearing in Stockholm, this time on Nalen in front of fans of j-pop. Exactly like last time Scandinavian Songs is in charge of the event in collaboration with Westin Promotion and the journalist and j-pop expert Marita Lindqvist.
Scandinavian Songs CEO Peo Nylén says:
- We are really happy that Tegomass has decided to come back and that we've been given the opportunity to carry this out again. They have expressed that they really like Sweden and the fans here. Last visit there was a lot of fans that gathered to see the duo. Back then our problem was that a lot of the fans simply didn't believe we were telling the truth and because of that they didn't come! It seems we don't have to worry about that this time. Fans have already expressed their intentions of showing up, on blogs and in our mailbox.
