[ She recognizes that wail, and she immediately springs into action on her end, ignoring the white, glowing pixie thing hovering around her? ]

Hope! Where are you?

[purgedhope]

Li-Light? ( there's a rustling sound as hope removes his journal from his side bag and opening it. )

Um, ah, clock tower. I'm near the clock tower.

Got it. How many?

[ She's made sure to keep Serah safe where they currently are, so she thinks it's okay to move out and get Hope now. Running out the door! ]

[purgedhope]

( there's a short pause as he peeks around. )

Just one th-- ( he's cut off as there's another loud wail. ) --never mind, there's two.

Great... Try to keep out of their sight. I'll be there soon.

[ She's in the clock tower area within a scant few minutes. As a precaution, she already has her Blazefire Saber out, eyes scanning the area. Finally, she sees a pair of Cie'th roaming around, and tries to find a hint of Hope anywhere... ]

( He spots Lightning from his spot, though the only problem is the fact the two ambling cie'th are standing in the way. he pauses for a moment and then there's another crack of lightning as Hope uses the moment the two were hit by the spell to run out and toward Light. )

Light!

[rebeliune]

[ Momentarily caught off guard by the sudden surge of lightning, her gaze immediately tears towards Hope, which her body moves to stand ahead of on reflex. She glances at him over her shoulder before watching the two Cie'th twitch and slowly turn their attention on them. ]

You're all right, Hope?

[purgedhope]

( he sighs, but nods, keeping his eyes on the two. )

Yeah, more surprised than anything.

[rebeliune]

For Cie'th to be here... What the hell's going on in this place?

[ Readies herself into a defensive battle stance. Briefly, she thinks if retreating should be a good idea right now, but if they let Cie'th like this wander around... ]

[purgedhope]

What isn't going on with this place. Just one thing after another, it seems like...

( he sifts, boomerang already in hand though more focused on thinking on ways to support Lightning with this. )

Here it comes!

[ She rushes forward, catching the gnarled arm of a Cie'th in a lock against her blade before pushing it aside. She throws a Ruin spell at the other monster, trying to catch both of their attention on her and away from Hope. ]

[purgedhope]

Ri-right!

( there's a faint glow as he sifts to his Synergist role, casting a few spells spells; haste, protect, bravery. if she was going to be taking the attention of the attacks, he figures that they're needed. sifting back to his Ravager role, sending a Thundara spell to the group. )

[rebeliune]

[ Lightning nods in gratituded for the buffs. Once she gets a brief opening, Lightning's body glows just as faintly as she shifts to a Ravager role, hoping to stagger their opponents as quickly as possible. She moves with a flurry of Sparkstrikes and Flamestrikes, topping off her attack with a Thundara spell as well. The heightened groans of the Cie'th are an indication to her that the attacks seem to be working. ]

Keep it up, Hope!

( he nods, firing off one spell after another to try and push the cie'th closer and closer to its stagger point. finally, there's a break as the cie'th gives a cry and stumble. not letting up, keeping the onslaught of spells up. )
