[Susan's smiling to herself as she shuts the door behind her, flushed even beneath the rouge she wears on her cheeks. She'd been so caught up in thinking about whatever she had been doing that night that she hadn't noticed Edmund's presence until he spoke.

She turns to him, smile turning a 100 watts brighter. It's not the sort of smile she would wear in Narnia. It's one that belongs to the world of masks and painted faces she's found herself a part of.

Somewhere underneath it, though, there's a hint of genuineness. She had actually had fun, this night. The party had made her feel almost like a Queen again.] Hello, Ed. It was incredibly lovely. Emma's brother and some of the men in his regiment were there, and they were such gentlemen.

[Although the definition of gentlemen here and the definition of gentlemen there were so different. They both knew that.]

{ooc; totally late to the party but -- DREAM/HALLUCINATION?}

[ Corin sits in the living room, just in the view of the door. There's no mischief in his smile, no twinkle in his eyes. He's been waiting for her, far more patiently than he had waited with anything else in his life. ]

[He's sitting so still, she doesn't even notice him until she turns from shutting the door completely. Even then, it takes her a moment to blink, absorbing the fact of his presence.

She's not sure how to respond-- as the motherly queen he knew in that life before, or as the young woman who was forgetting that she was once that queen.

She settles for neither, using a simple, surprised.] Oh.
