Happy Halloween Chicago!
As always, Mookie paces and peeks in the bedroom until I wake and give him some attention.
Surprisingly, my fiance wakes fairly early too.
Laundry.
Fuel.
Through another favorite neighborhood of greystones and two flats, Andersonville.
Stop at the grocery stores for some of these.
Which become these, in my "pie making lesson"
My teacher Matthew. I swear, I was a good student!
I learn how to make dough (frozen butter!) and roll it out.
We make a pumpkin first and then my favorite, an apple pie. I flute the edges and make vents for steam.
My creative vents. Aww, my grandma would be proud of me!
I head home, meet darling fiance, and we head out again with our realtor.
This woman is not wearing a halloween costume.
In the search of our first home... we've seen 35+ condos, single family homes and fixer uppers. This strange property had a little seat in the back. I have no idea what it is for. This was a foreclosure and it had been vandalized so the whole place was coverd in graffitti.
Shockingly, we found a true gem. It's 1600 square feet in Chicago, with secured parking and a phenomenal kitchen, ss appliances, granite, etc. The kitchen sold me. There are two sunrooms. We'll keep one as the family space off the kitchen and use the other as an office probably. We are 99% sure we'll put an offer on this place. SO exciting. SO terrifying!
Boo! An hour later I've come up with a costume. I call her "After Hours Strawberry Shortcake"
We head to the party and encounter Party lady and a Cereal Killer.
Finally, I carve my pies and share the goods. They were both delicious!
My dear friend Sylvia is a midwesterner.
The piemaker is a farmer too! His roomy is a sexy dead lion tamer.
Me and Marlyse, the witch hostess.
My CIA agent has been enjoying mandarin vodka.
Gotta love farmers.
We're out. Good night long full day.
