I always preferred Gene Kelly to Fred Astaire. Gene wasn't as graceful, but always seemed to dance with more passion for what he was doing.

No doubt that MJ could dance, but there were others that were so much more talented. Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Sammy Davis Jr, Gregory Hines, Savion Glover. Those guys could/can dance.

All of them were great performers, let alone just dancers. Gene Kelly came across as more classical than Astaire, I thought, as if he'd rather be doing ballet while Astaire was the showman.

I know bugger all about dance, but hey - interesting and different topic for debate on this blog
