A Case For Less Work and More Activity

Apr 10, 2013 02:49

No, this doesn't mean I'm gonna quit my job or anything. Heaven forbid that ever happens. After all, I need my job. But I also need more activity. I have instances where I'm bored or don't want to do much. The problem isn't that I've run out of stuff to do, or that I lack the energy. The problem is I should probably stop sleeping and start being a little more active again. Not just online, but IRL.

Dunno about you guys, but it seems like I'm missing out on plenty. And not only because of work. There's plenty of stuff that happens outside of my work hours. I mean, there's activities happening in my neighborhood, activities happening nearby that I can easily get to, and stuff happening online as well. Livestreams, creative events, and other such things.

Yes, work leaves me quite exhausted and not wanting to do anything else. But I'm fairly sure that if I wanted to, I can find the energy to do other stuff. I had a fairly balanced lifestyle before work got all busy and crazy on me and I moved up the ranks. Since when has my life become just a constant stream of work and just crawling onto the next meet or activity or what not? That's not what I want. That's what I'm living right now, and I'm not liking it one bit.

I'm missing out on so much, and it's not gonna get fixed by just snoozing the day away and plodding through work. Nope. I've gotta find the energy and drive to get out there and make stuff happen again.

more fun, activity, lifestyle
