[Personality]
As most of us know, Sonic is a world renowned hero and the fastest hedgehog alive in his world! An easy way to describe Sonic would be 'like the wind'. Free and without a master, coming in at any time. The type to run wherever he feels the need or urge to go, yet an incredible force who's power is not to be underestimated. He's a hero, first and foremost, with a great sense of justice and a hate of confinement. Always aiming to protect his world from any danger. Having saved his world on more than one occasion, he's of the firm belief that good will always win. He's extremely determined, bordering on stubborn, and nothing will ever deter him or slow him down for long. It doesn't matter what happens, he'll never give up. Odds are, whenever you see him, he'll be up and, well, racing to infinity!
One thing Sonic values above all else is friendship. He's an all around social guy and can make friends with just about anyone, even those who were once enemies. This is proven with his friendly rival Knuckles the Echidna and Shadow the Hedgehog, later. In fact it's because they worked together that they have developed such a friendship. Knuckles being tricked by Eggman then working with Sonic to retrieve the Master Emerald, and Shadow, who Sonic referred to as a faker when they first met, to stop Space Colony ARK from crashing into earth. When it comes to his friends, Sonic would likely do whatever it takes to help or protect them. Hurting any of his friends would be a terrible idea. While he's pretty laid back, harming his friends or otherwise putting them in danger is one thing that really sets him off. Do this and you'll see another side of him. He would never go as far as to kill anyone, though. Eggman still being around is proof of that. But he will definitely give you a nice clobbering to remember.
Sonic is one guy that doesn't like being bored. He's a competitive go-getter who's always seeking out a challenge in his next adventure. Speed is his thing. He's fast, he thinks fast, he does not like slow. He's pretty hard to keep up with in the literal and metaphorical sense due to his somewhat impatient and impulsive nature. He sometimes runs right into things without thinking ahead too much because, hey. It could be fun. Where will he stop? He doesn't know, but he can't be wrong. His impulse hasn't lead to his complete downfall yet, despite the close calls he's had. So he'll keep going. In other words, there's no permanent settling down for this guy. Much to Amy Rose's chagrin who's always seeking to marry Sonic while he tries to fend of her advances by running like all hell. Romance is something he doesn't care for, since he feels that he has more important things to do and prefers just friendship. It's less complicated. His goals in life are to adventure, live life by his own feelings and fight for the sake of the world he and his friends live in.
He's known worldwide for his abilities used in saving everyone. And he's definitely not humble about it. In fact, he's down right full of himself. This has gotten him into trouble on occasion in combination with his impulses. He's a huge show-off who often brags about his abilities or how he otherwise defeated one of his enemies (Primarily Eggman). He tends to taunt his opponents a lot while fighting them and takes any opportunity to show off his abilities that he can. He's a pretty big trickster and rather sarcastic, always having some sort of comment, joke or silly nickname for those who tend to get on his bad side. Eggman is the best proof of this, as he constantly teases his old nemesis. Not to mention "Knucklehead" for Knuckles. He'll intentionally annoy people who've gotten on his bad side, but if you do enough to help, you'll redeem yourself to him. A light-hearted yet derogatory comment every now and then certainly isn't unheard of, though. While he's trusting, he's far from gullible since he can peg a suspicious character or lie pretty quickly thanks to his experiences.
Despite his arrogance, Sonic will have his moments where he gets off his high-horse or stops joking around and gets serious. He knows when to turn off the snark. Mostly for the sake of his friends or the world. A good moment when this is demonstrated was the scene after he ended up falling into a trap set by Eggman and successfully performing the Chaos Control, avoiding almost certain death. Where he pleaded to Knuckles to help Tails and Amy whom Eggman had held captive so he could complete his mission to throw a fake Chaos Emerald into the Earth threatening Eclipse Cannon and destroy it. He knows when he needs to step down from his fake pedestal for the sake of the world, and he'll do so in a heartbeat for that purpose. Even if it's extremely risky, there's no talking him out of a decision to save the world.
In general, though, Sonic is a fun-loving, kindhearted guy who cares for his friends and just wants to live his life the way he wants to. By making more allies, adventuring and saving the world! He won't look back, he doesn't need to! Time won't wait and he's got much more to do than spend his time holding onto the past. And as long as he's always driven to run and fight, he'll always be going toward his next journey.

The ability we all know of is his supersonic speed! Sonic is described as the fastest thing alive. He can go at speeds past mach one and break sound barriers before you even have a chance to blink. This is not an exaggeration.
Other than his super speed, his main ability is the Spin Dash. He can curl up into a ball, charge up and jet toward the enemy in this form. It can be used as an attack or just a way to gain a quick burst of speed. There's also the self explanatory Somersault which is normally used to get through tight spaces.
He also has the "Homing Attack" ability, where he can jump in the air and launch himself at an enemy as a form of attack.
There's also the ability from his shoes, the Light Speed Dash, where he can run along a path of rings, though since there aren't rings in Somarium, this won't work.
While also not applicable in Somarium (unless somehow the Chaos Emeralds appear), when all seven Chaos Emeralds are gathered, he can transform into "Super Sonic", where he can go at speeds near the speed of light and increases the power all of his abilities.
Again, N/A in Somarium, but he also has the ability "Chaos Control" that hasn't been entirely explained. What can be assumed is that it's a complicated time space manipulating power that uses a large amount of energy from the Chaos Emeralds. It has been used for stopping time, teleporting so far, but it's indeed possible that it can do much more. Sonic only used this ability once in game and as stated, it won't be available in Somarium.
Other than the abilities, though, he's actually competent at hand to hand combat and is pretty physically strong despite his appearance.

- You have two options: either save your friend who is hanging from a cliff, or chase after the bad guy who put them in a position. If you choose the former, the bad guy will get away and it will be hard to catch him. If you choose the latter, the cliff will crumble and the friend will fall to the spiky rocks below. What do you do and why?
I'd save my friend. No way I'd just leave them to fall. 'Sides, there's no way the guy'll out run me for long. No one can outrun the world's fastest hedgehog!
- What is more important to you: having friends or living on your own? Why?
Definitely having friends. Things are a lot better with my buds around. Besides, it'd be all boring without them! Seriously, I don't get how those loner types do it.
- Do you prefer adventure or the peaceful life?
Adventure, all the way! It's cool taking a vacation sometimes, but nothing'll beat a good adventure in a million years.

Before Sonic knew it, he was surrounded by government soldiers on all sides. He had no clue what they were talking about, something about him "escaping from the base" and "stealing a Chaos Emerald". At least that's what a lot of them kept repeating. One thing he knew, he did not steal anything or escape from anywhere. His attempts to plead his case didn't seem to matter, as they took him into custody anyway. He was then taken to a helicopter along with more soldiers that were likely ordered to guard him.
Now he's just pacing in a holding cell guarded by a GUN soldier. Admittedly, the entire situation was rather irritating to Sonic. He'd been caught up in some pretty bad situations before, but this one is pretty darn high on the list. Seriously, what motive would he have to steal a Chaos Emerald? And the only base he'd escaped from recently was the Egg Carrier, and something like that wouldn't get him arrested. One thing he imagined is that it's another Eggman scheme and he's trying to ruin the blue hedgehog's good name, but the only way he'd be able to do that is with some Metal Sonic knock-off. Only problem with that is, Sonic trashed that old badnik years ago. He's almost positive Eggman has something to do with this, though. If indirectly at the very least.
One things for sure, though. Sonic can't just sit around in this flying holding cell while someone or something is out there framing him for crimes he didn't commit! He's gotta get off this helicopter somehow.
He takes a moment to think. He glances at the guard standing in front of the cell, and notices a set of keys on his side. Perfect, if he can take out the guard, he'll be able to get outta here. He slowly approaches the guard from behind. He manages to fit his hand through the bars and snatch the keys from the guard. He must have felt something move away from him, because he turned toward Sonic almost immediately after he stepped away from the guard. With escape almost certain, Sonic dangled the keys in his hands with a grin. In utter shock, the guard reached for his side arm and called upon his fellow soldiers for assistance. Before he had a chance to fire, Sonic jumped in the air and delivered a sharp kick to the guard's face, knocking him out. He unlocked one of his handcuffs, then the door to the cell and slid it open. Of course, more soldiers were waiting for him as soon as he walked out and surrounded him. Sonic once again hops in the air and launches himself at one of the other soldiers, then another, and another in rapid succession. With all except the pilot down, he could finally escape.
"Sorry 'bout that, guys." He says with a bit of a smirk, looking at the downed soldiers. He means the apology, since they were just doing their jobs, but they still locked him up and the satisfaction of escaping is pretty sweet. He could hear the pilot begin to panic at having lost sight of their cargo, him, and he knew it was time to bust out of this copter. The best way to do that? Kick the door down. He does just that and flies outside, grabbing onto the wing of the plane before he could come out anymore.
"Freeze! What do you think you're doing?! Get that hedgehog!" The pilot orders while Sonic managed to get footing on the side of the aircraft. He's got an idea to get to the ground, and he's gonna need something to do it. He grabs onto a loose panel of the helicopter and pulls it off, looking back at the broken down door.
"Talk about low budget flights! No food or movies? I'm outta here, I like running better!" he remarks. He stands atop the panel he broke off and jumps down, toward civilization, toward the main city. As he makes his backward decent toward the streets, a grin comes onto his face. He can feel it. This is going to be one of his biggest adventures yet. Despite the rough start, this will continue into an amazing triumph.
