Massively article on the Unity Rally, reproduced below!

"Years and years of acting out a super-human ideal in-game have apparently worn off on the players of City of Heroes. Faced with the news that their beloved game is due to sunset before the end of the year, CoH fans have been putting on a tremendous show of support for the game and Paragon Studios. Saturday saw a massive rally on the in-game steps of City Hall in Atlas Park as players gathered to show their support and love for Paragon Studios and its employees. The support campaign continues, however: Intrepid CoH fans have organized a call to action to bombard NCsoft with capes and masks through the mail.

Fans are also rising up to share their feelings via letters to Taek Jin Kim, NCsoft's CEO, which has caught the attention of fantasy writer and CoH guest author Mercedes Lackey. In response to the original call to letter-writing action, Lackey said said she was extending an offer to NCsoft to endorse, uncompensated, any and all NCsoft products if the company can only find a way for CoH to live on."

Also included below is the composite video put together of 3,000 heroes strong that showed up through 32 FULL instances of Atlas Park on Virtue (with 100 people in each), caused a 300 person queue for getting into Virtue, and spilled over into at least 8 full Atlas Parks on Freedom. The video is expandable to 720p resolution (they tried 1080p but it crashed the demofile and made Leandro's computer choke).

This particular video was put together from flying through every instance of AP on Virtue, demorecording the heroes in it, and editing the demofile to make them all appear in one spot, then videocapturing it to make the video. The row of 4 characters that are actually doing emotes are TonyV (organizer of the Save COH movement) on the clipboard, to his left is Samuraiko/Dark Respite (Videographer) with the camera, Hit Streak (COH OCR team), and Ascendant (Virtue/Game-wide legend, as always, on the phone with his agent, Saul). Every hero you see in that video was actually played by a player and showed up during the rally.

save coh, community, people stuff
