I dropped CoX for a while now, sporadically playing every now and then with my husband and leveling up low toons... Now we're interested in our mains again (Me being a 40 emp/rad def and him a 41 fire/fire blaster), and feel completely lost ( Read more... )

CLEARING CONFUSION:

I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to get into Cimerora once I entered the funky back corridors of the Midnighter Club. It's actually the glowy/flamey crystal that is completely unlabeled and unadorned and not very obvious if you're looking for something NORMAL (typically a sign, zone guard, etc) to click on or an arch/door to go through. I missed it in my first few wandering passes around the back. :x

Thank you! I was there but I thought it was just, you know, a clubhouse. A place where you could meet with villains without fighting, and a shortcut to a couple other zones. That kind of thing. I had no idea there was anything useful there. I shall have to check again!

They pushed the boundaries on the "secret club" deal rather hard, but they DID state clearly in the introduction by the guys who send you to chimerahrahrah that they've managed to "acquire" a specially attuned "shard of the Flame of Oroborous" or whatever they call those things.

Which is to say, they stole a crystal with fire in the middle.

If you haven't done any Oroboros by this time, you're pretty hosed in knowing what it is, but the odds are pretty good that most L35 people who haven't power-leveled know what it is. And the devs are not going out of their way to make it easy for the ones who did. Except they forgot people who come back after a long absence. Maybe they need to put something on the forums.

The best way to do it is to have one of those talky-NPCs like in Vanguard posts.

Except I always want to punch him for ineffectually demanding I see him Every Single Time I go past him, so I hope they choose the text wisely. >_> If he is supposed to simulate a guard that is giving me admittance, then I should have to click on him rather than the door (as with most hazard zone entrances).

Also, I did not do any Ouroboros content before trying to go to Cimerora. (Haven't done any myself, that is. I have been on one of the TFs a couple times, I have no idea how that's done either.) All I knew about Ouro was there was some sort of Pillar of Crap. I didn't know what it looks like. I've never seen the base item either.

You should do it. It's tremendously useful if only as a way to get to a single store that accepts all enhancements and pays best price for them.

I don't care about sale prices for enhancements after level 30 or so. More inf by far from mob rewards and inventions drops.
