I wish I could say I was living in an apartment with a dog and a job, but that'd probably sound disingenuous. Plus, it wouldn't be true and I had parents who taught me Lying Was Bad. Doesn't go with the uniform. Not that I still have one.
Yeah, I'm rambling.
Shit hit the fan after you left, Claire. The Feds came and wanted to question us, but you were already gone, so I had to take the brunt of it. They used big words like "Inquiry" and "Federal Investigation" and "Detainment." I'm pretty sure they would have cut me open if they could, just to see how I made it out alive and unscathed. They knew about Sherry.
They took her. I was able to make a deal for information. I've got a pretty good record and it was easy to convince them they needed my skills. Talk is cheap but I suppose surviving an outbreak says something about your character? Who knows. As for Sherry...there was nothing I could do.
Everything is upside-down and I'm just trying to stay straight. Take care of yourself. You're good at it.

They TOOK her? Took her where? What the hell are you talking about, Leon? How did the feds find you? How did they even KNOW? I told you to be careful, damn it. You're the trained one, you should've been able to run better under the radar.
And what are you talking about? You convinced them they needed you? What, you're working for the government now?
Where the hell did they take Sherry?

I don't know where they took her. They didn't tell me and I haven't been able to find out. Bottom line is, she's not my kid and I have no legal right to her. I did what I could and it was all I could do.
You chose to leave, ok? You wanted to do something and you did it and that was your decision. I've had to make my own decisions too, and if you don't like them then there's nothing I can do about that, either.
If you wanted to have a say in Sherry's future you should have thought of that before you left.

Thank you, Leon. Chris found me, we were in Antartica. It's a long story. I'm sending you some information we got while we were there. I sent it to your old email address. It's encrypted, just...put it somewhere, we might need it later. Umbrella stuff, in case it rains. You understand!
Chris says I can't tell you where we are. We're pretty out of touch, though. We caught a rumor about Umbrella in some kind of big legal trouble though? What's going on? No one here cares about big corporate legal stuff, just crops and crap.

I'm glad Chris was able to find you. I sent him all the files I had on Rockfort. I was worried.
You mentioned someone there with you. Steve? Did he make it out?
Umbrella is under investigation, and a lawsuit. After the government dropped the nukes on Raccoon, Umbrella just collapsed. Or at least, their public branch did. Those guys are like cockroaches, though. They might not have money or funding, but they'll always be hanging around somewhere.
I wish I could say we're rid of them, but I know better.
Work is going well. I'm actually enjoying this job, even though I know you'll probably think I sold out. But...there's a lot I can do here, Claire. And for what it's worth, I'm sorry about what I said, and about Sherry. I was angry about how it all went down and frustrated and I lost my temper. I've looked for her, but...they knew I would.
I'll keep looking.

No. Steve didn't make it out. It's hard to explain. Sorry this took so long, Chris got restless, we moved on again. At least we're in civilization now.
I'm keeping tabs on the Umbrella stuff now. I never would've figured this would happen! I guess I was imagining some kind of grand showdown, you know? A lawsuit and a government inquiry seems terribly anticlimactic...
Still, if it works, I can come home! We'll have to have lunch or something.
Well, whenever it happens anyway. I wonder though, if we should try to come forward...
Not sure I like the thought of being involved in a big trial, though...What about you? Are you testifying?
