[The teen's sitting on the roof of Tower Alpha, smoking a cigarette as the sun sets over the City of Cydonia. Idly, he throws a paper airplane out, watching it loop in the air before gliding down quickly

[Negi had come up to the roof to come and think about his recent life events. And possibly think about WHY he was back. But, Oh look! There's a boy on the roof. He sees that he looks really unhappy, so he sits a little distance away. He sighs, as he sits thinking. After a little while, Negi turns to Gokudera.]
[Maybe if he ignores this presence, it will go away. The teen takes a long drag from his cigarette, then throws another airplane. Well, at this guy's being quiet-
[Negi looks at him a few moments longer, and looks away. If he wasn't going to talk, he'd sit here quietly. It's what some of the girls were like when they were troubled.]
[Instead, he busied himself, manipulating the air around him with wind magic to make the planes go high and far, even switching directions by changing the air currents. Doing this distracted him from his own thoughts, too.]
Even if I weren't, it's nothing I want to talk to a kid about.
[He throws another airplane and watches as it turns around. Confused, he watches another fly farther. What the hell...? Most of his planes weren't even that good! He was far from consistent in how he'd built them, and the majority had seemed to take nose-dives.
Gokudera glances at the small guy beside him. Tch, he only looked like a primary school kid. What the hell was he even doing up here, anyways?]
[not taking his eyes off the plane. With his main element being wind, he had to concentrate so as not too let too much magic out.... especially as he was doing this by using the hurricane barrier spell, and changing it's range. He makes it come back to him by pulling the range of thespell in tight to them, and now, gokudera will feel the breeze that carried the plane until he plucks it from the air in front of him. He chuckles, and hands it back to Gokudera.]
Are you worried about talking to a kid, or being seen talking to a kid, because there's a difference.
Obviously. That's why I said I don't want to talk to you about it.
[The teen accepts the plane, then examines it. Huh... it was still just the paper airplane he'd thrown. How the hell did this guy even do that. He hadn't seen him lift a finger other than the pick it out of the air!]
[He puts the plane on the ground, and starts playing with magical air currents again. he gets it to dance about on the wind in the air again, eventually making it hit the back of Gokudera's head.]
Even though I'm a kid, does that mean I haven't had enough experience in life to be able to give advice. My students didn't seem to think the same thing, either. They treated me... differently when I looked older. I didn't end up in marshmallow hell so often...
As for not understanding... it can still feel better to talk about it. Sometimes, an outsiders view can help clarify things for yourself.
[He shakes his head] I thought that. But how you feel can affect people who are close to you, and can upset them too - Which then burdens them more. [That, and him burdening his own problems led to him almost getting killed... at least twice.]
[minor flail] I'm not on about you being close to me! Please, don't misunderstand - but if you keep it all to yourself, It might eventually effect anyne who is. All I'm offering is a unjudgemental ear to prevent that. After all, We've all gotta live together, Right? [with this, he turns and smiles at Gokudera.]
[Gokudera sighs, frustrated. Originally, he never planned to be close to anyone so that he couldn't upset anyone.
That smile only seems to confuse him more. This guy wasn't happy with his situation, was he? But if he's not going to be judgemental, if he honestly wants to know what's going on... he could let on a little from his shoulders. Oh well, he'd tried to warn him.]
Everyone wants to go back.
I don't know if I should.
[Would they treat Dende well? Would the Tenth welcome him back? Would they label him as a traitor and have him killed? If they did, what would become of his Namekian friend. What if Tetsurunga sent them back to their home worlds and he'll miss a chance at goodbye? Even then, the mafia is no place for a kid like Dende... Maybe a goodbye would be for the best.]
Wanting to and having to... Everybody has their own reasons. It doesn't mean you necessarily should.
You should follow your heart. Does it want to go back? I won't say happy, because this is such a bad situation we are in, but if you are [He searches for the most applicable word] comfortable here...
[He doesn't think the Tenth would be the one to kill him for being gone so long. But what if, by his absence, his boss hasn't lived through everything... then there is nothing to go back to? He wouldn't be able to live with himself knowing that... and then he'd be subjecting Dende to his own grief.]
...What's the matter?

oops. spoke too soon.]

Th-that's not... If it's a problem, I can change. M-My appearance, I mean.

What? Why would you do that? [Is this guy THAT desperate to talk with him?]

[A pause] Besides... I might be a kid, but it doesn't mean I have to be treated like one...

He huffs and leans forward, picking at his shoelaces and then running a hand through his hair.]
That's exactly what it means! Even if you change your appearance, won't you still be a kid?!
It would make no sense to talk to someone who doesn't understand.

Students...?
[He looks him up and down. Well... Reborn-san was one year old and teaching the Tenth to take on the Vongola family.
Gokudera shakes his head.]
A man must learn to stomach his own problems. I won't burden others with them.
Don't get it... [Why would a strange little kid care about his wellbeing?]
