Yesterday morning we woke to a blanket of snow. Today, however, it is spring.

The overwintered veggies are about to start their final burst of growth; salad days are here!

We've been eating the broccoli already; it seems just as delicious whether we get to it before some of the flowers open or not. Is that your experience, too?


Radiccio and various lettuces. We haven't tried the radiccio yet; I can't wait for it to size up.

Flowering currants--beloved by the hummingbirds. Usually I see them starting in March, but they don't seem to be back yet this year. They're going to miss their favorite flower if they don't make it soon.
