Dissapointed in Fandom
You know what is dissapointing? The lack of fandom for a great show (it also makes me hate FOX that much more). What show am I talking about? Kitchen Confidential. Either the two fics that I found accidentally are it, or I am just being a tard and not finding anything.
Are people afraid of something? I mean, are they afraid that Anthony Bordain is going to show up at their door brandishing a knife because you've created a fandom based on his past... okay... so Bordain MAY show up doing all said things... but that is only if you are stupid enough to go showing off your address to where he can see it.
Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
Or maybe it is the fact that there were only six or so episodes of the one and only season of it shown in American. It went the same route of Firefly, but Firefly took off and even got a movie. It has a huge fanbase! It is like, the amazingness of all cult classic television! But KC is like that one show that a handful of people watched, loved, and then did nothing to support it.
It had slash in it! I mean seriously, there was stuff that was blatantly there. There was a gay waiter! There was femslash too! There was actual girl on girl kissing! And the sparks that flew in every episode were enough to keep any fandom psycho happy and their fire ablazin'.
But yet there is not enough of a fire that I have found to roast a marshmallow.
If that isn't a little bit daunting I don't know what it. I can't just jump willy nilly into a fandom that is not really there (or I can't find). Because if I do them I will get stared at, or prodded and poked to do stuff for it.
So I'll just sit around and mope and wish I had enough gall to go and buy the series on DVD (I don't even think my Blockbuster carries it).
Maybe in the long run the only reason I want to see more of KC is because I adore Nicholas Brendan... and he is a Patissiere in this, who wears kerchiefs around his neck (sometimes pink), eats chocolate, was upset that no guy would want him (and then all proud of the fact that the actual gay waiter would), constantly fights with Teddy, is terrified of the breadman (who I so can imagine wants to surprise butt smex him), and is constantly obsessing over woman (obviously trying to cover up something).

Or am I just bashing my head in the wall trying to get people to recognize it? *pouts*
Oh wait... no... there is a community for it... on livejournal none-the-less... oh wait... when was it last updated? 4 months ago? *cries* And what is it all of if not het? Jack/Steve.... Jack/Steve... on... and Jack/Steve.... *growls*
I think I'll bash my head into a wall now... all I ask for is one Teddy/Seth fic. Or picture... or avatar... or general inclination that it would work.
Maybe I'll draw a crappy sketch sometime *grumbles*
