30 Days of Backstreet!

Sep 03, 2010 16:19

Except in this journal it will be 27 days, because I'm a little slow on the uptake. A meme taken from a few people, and originally from this Tumblr. Yeah I just did a month of Howie posts; what's another month?

Day 01: How did you become a fan?

I think the first time I ever heard about the Backstreet Boys was when a girl in my school choreographed a dance routine to to one of their songs for our talent show, I want to say it was Get Down. This was like, fourth grade. lol I remember thinking that it was a catchy song, but she was not a particularly good dancer. Didn't really know or care about them for a year after that, but I got hooked when I saw their Disney Concert special, was that in 1998? And I was captivated by the cute blonde one, I admit. lol I guess that much hasn't changed. I talked my grandma into buying me the Millennium album...and she thought I was a bit off. And I've been stalking them on the internet ever since.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I can't pick just one. I'm greedy like that. lol Honestly, my favorite Backstreet Boy is a mishmash of three two Backsteet Boys! Was three until Kevin left, and although I still love him he's not officially a BSB. Guess which two?

They're just so cute together! And they antagonize each other, but they all love it. I don't think I would have nearly as much affection for any of them individually, if it wasn't for their relationship with each other. And that goes for all four/five of them, really.

Day 03: favorite album

Hm, this is really hard actually. lol This really all depends when you ask. I tend to go through phases, where I'll play one album obsessively for awhile, and then forget it for months. Each album has songs that I really love, and songs I could care less about. I'm on an Unbreakable kick right now; which, as it happens, is an awesome workout CD. So I probably listen to that one the most. I think that's the best for dance music. The Backstreet Boys album is probably my second favorite, because they're just fun and easy to listen to. Millennium I haven't listened to in awhile, but it's good for sappy self-indulgent love songs. Black and Blue helped get me through some hard times. And I really do like Never Gone; while it doesn't showcase their vocal abilities as well as other albums, it's got some really different songs that are fun and interesting. Plus Kevin's tribute to his father, which makes me melt. Then I also burned a CD of most of the unreleased songs from that time, which are just amazing (and so should have been their own album, which is still a little frustrating). So, favorite album would be...all of them?
