YES!

...Finally, I'm done.

Not DONE-done. Never done. But life has been really intense for the past months with Responsible Adult Things, culminating in a large chunk of business travel during which I honestly couldn't tell you what day it was for about two weeks straight. And now it's over. Done! Fini-- and at long last I have a chance to indulge in some quality fangirl comforts for a little while. Like... maybe fanfiction? I can write? Or draw?? It's been so long since I've done either of those! That multi-chaptered Diodeshipping fic isn't going to finish itself, boy howdy, and we'll see if I even remember how to hold a pencil and/or stylus at this point. But that's later. Right now, let me try to bring you up to speed about what else has been going on around here...

1. ACen was amazing, and (dare I say?) better than last year. Chicago was awesome, costumes were super-fun, and our panel (I think) went really well! Hmm, methinks I should really go through those pictures at some point! :B

2. Me and the husb' got to go home and see my folks, my sister, the dogs, some old dance buddies, and the (substantial) construction that's gone on in our old neighborhood. Plus we got to eat at a few restaurants we miss a lot, like the creole cafe *drools*

3. After 13 years and approximately 229,000 miles, I'm going to have to give up my car. RIP Menchi, hello Finn (Star Wars Finn, just so we're clear. My new car looks like a bit like a Stormtrooper. Cue the Imperial March XD).

4. The "Hamilton" soundtrack has taken over my life because it is completely, mind-blowingly amazing. And to a lesser extent, it reminded me that I still kind of love the 1776 musical, if only for this ridiculously over-the-top performance. But I'm going to go ahead and add King George III to the short list of roles I would like to play in some weird genderbent Broadway AU version of my own life, because his song and its reprises are completely hilarious (Awesome! Wow!!) XD

5. Drank a lot of Thai iced tea while on travel. Yummy!

6. Recent/ongoing anime series I'm working through (faves in bold): "Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun," "Lovely Muuuuuuuco," "The Lost Village," "Sailor Moon Crystal season 3," "Lupin III part 4", and "Rin-ne." I've heard from several people that I should watch "Your Lie in April" as well, and I really want to start making my way through the all the Hosoda and Miyazaki movies I haven't seen yet (that I keep telling myself I don't have time to sit down and really appreciate :P) Also, I've really been itching to watch "Gundam Wing" again, for some reason!

7. Recent reads: "The Three Musketeers," "80 Days: Nellie Bly and Elizabeth Bisland's History-Making Race Around the World," "Carry On," "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making," "Something Wicked This Way Comes," and the Chronicles of Kazam (books 2 and 3). Definitely been tearing through a lot of books recently, which is kind of a welcome change of pace from the norm!

8. Recent/ongoing video games: "Pokemon Alpha Sapphire," "Ico," "Mass Effect 2," "Okamiden," and "Gone Home." Yeah, the one in bold is also the only one I've finished, but it's also more-or-less the only game on this list that's not a lengthy RPG ^^; Seriously though, "Gone Home" is an amazing and immersive story-driven game-- highly recommended. Just DON'T miss out on the second-to-last clue like I did, or you will be very confused (and take a minute to spare a thought at the end for Christmas Duck. Good ol' Christmas Duck! X3). Also: new South Park game? I haven't even seen the episodes that introduce The Coon and Mysterion, but I'm kinda-sorta-maybe excited for this (well, OK. Mostly for Butters, but the trailer did make me laugh).

9. Recent/ongoing Western cartoons: I've rewatched most of the "Batman: The Animated Series" episodes I care about, and the Superman animated series as well. Season 6 of "Venture Bros." was so freaking epic that I ended up watching it in one sitting (it was um... only 8 episodes). I LOVED where the story was going and what it was doing and then it just... ended, very abruptly. With some characters ending up almost completely ignored! Another 2+ year wait for Season 7, then. Siiiigh :P Also, "Bob's Burgers" is EXCELLENT and I wish I could watch it more often. I have a lot of seasons to catch up on at this point!

10. Found an really great comic book store this weekend, not too far away. I will be paying them regular visits from here on out, I think :3

So yeah, that's it... ish? I'm mostly just excited by the prospect of writing and drawing again. And I'm really starting to miss my original characters/personal project, too! Hopefully I'll get to spend some time pursuing something related to at least one of those things tomorrow.

TTYL!
