This past week and a half has given me so many warm and fuzzy Digimon feelings, and that makes me really happy <3
On a related note, here is a haiku about how I spent a large part of my weekend:
~~~~~
Been sketching all day
Taishiro is delicious
But heads look all wrong
:/
Hoping to post the results to
tai_x_kou in the next few weeks. I'm still very much out of practice, so drawing is really a challenge for me right now, but I'm inspired, so I will persevere! I think I have most of my immediate issues worked out (for now), but I have like six layers of rough sketch saved off trying to figure out how to anatomy, so picking and choosing which parts I'm going to keep during cleanup and final inking is going to be a nightmare. The good news is, I think I figured out how to get the background effects I want in ye olde GIMP, so that's cool. Plus, I'm drawing Digimon fellas again! This is exciting :3
Also, I've been referring back to Adventure's model sheets and screenshots to see what I can learn from the anime's style (not that I've tried more than a few times just for practice, but still). The first thing I've noticed is that I draw their eleven-year-old torsos way to long and skinny :/ I'm also trying to get myself to like how Tai looks with his hair down from those few times in Adventure when he's not wearing his goggles/headband. It just looks weird to see it that way-- ultimately glad they fluffed his hair back up for 02. And on a (slightly) related note, I got a random kid's clothing catalog in the mail the other day. Kids clothes! They're adorable. But the point is, this company's fall line includes
several star-
patterned items, which has unintentionally given me lots of fodder for outfits I want to put
baby and/or elementary-
age Tai in, because little Tai + star shirts = yes please XD. Anyway, that company also carries
this shirt, which veeeery subtly says "digimon" to me, and that makes me smile :)
Also also! Found my old copies of "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Fountainhead." Let the reading commence!
