Today's Experiment... Failed
I've only seen four episodes of Excel Saga and that was 10 years ago, but here's what I do know:
1). I got my first car around the same time and I kinda sorta named it Menchi. I think the implication there was that if I ever got too poor to feed myself, I would... eat the car? Whatever, past-Citrus. I'm still driving it around to this day, so I guess that means I'm doing all right for myself!
2) Space Butler is the best.
Maybe I should watch the rest of the series someday. But really, can anything top Space Butler?
In other news, I have been drawing again! Well, more like reteaching myself how... -_- Long breaks are terrible, but sometimes they let me reassess and/or change certain stylistic habits I've developed, so I'm trying to view it in a positive light. You'd think that owning a tablet would make it that much easier to work on digital inking, but I've spent so many fruitless hours playing around with trying to get GIMP brush settings the way I want them that more often than not it just ends up being frustrating. However, a few days ago I downloaded another bit of free software called FireAlpaca. The interface is pretty barebones, but so far it seems really well suited for tablet work. I really like the pressure sensitivity and resulting line quality, so if these first few tests are any indication, it's quite likely that it'll become my default program for doing lineart from now on. And yes, in case you were wondering, one of my first test doodles was of Tai. I really am hopeless.
