And then suddenly, FEMINISM!

I took a much-needed break from computing this week, and to tell the truth, it was pretty nice. But in the meantime, I finally read "The Hunger Games" and and AND got caught up on the first three episodes of "Legend of Korra."

First of all, "Hunger Games" showed me definitively what I've suspected for a long time: I am a sucker for stories that involve wilderness survival. KATNISS and sleeping in trees and fire-building and hunting and worrying about the cold and camouflage and food and first aid and oh yeah other teenagers trying to kill you and PEETA and I don't know, it was written in such an engaging and suspenseful way that I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.

As for "Legend of Korra," I don't even know where to start. NagaMakoBolinPabuTenzinMeeloKORRA HNNNNNNGH OHMYGOD so awesome and I love them and SO AWESOME. Also, Republic City is AMAZING and 1920s and gangsters and radios and steam and factories and anti-benders and AAAAAAAGH!!!

So yes, I think the moral of the story is that I missed having Strong Female Protagonists in my life, and the scale is now at least slightly more balanced than it has been of late. A very empowering week, to say the least!

legend of korra, tv, books, hunger games
