What do I save this to? The Vampire Diaries or Chicago Fire because I am of course saving this to my memories. It's one of your best - seriously - and you have made me even more obsessed with Kelly and Katherine. I was wondering how they were going to work, how the "cross-over" would work and this was just so perfect I loved how he was joking around at first, not at all believing it, and I love that Katherine is just very blunt and straight forward. Just the things she says and the ways she says it, it's all so blunt. It's taking me forever to write this because I just keep going back and reading it again and again. I seriously can't even tell you what I loved because I loved all of it. I love the compelling lessons and how quick Kelly takes to all of it. And of course, at the end, when she thinks he left her, that moment of panic on her end.

She stares at him, battling with herself. Maybe it isn’t a weakness to like him, stay with him, be endlessly turned on by him. Maybe it’s a strength.I love signs of vulnerable Katherine because ( ... )

Very brief reply to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! But there will be more, much later on tonight . . .

ETA:

you have made me even more obsessed with Kelly and Katherine
Well, then, I'm proud of myself because, as far as I am concerned, they are the hottest pairing EVER!

I'm really pleased you liked Katherine's bluntness. Also, Kelly joking around at the beginning - I mean, imagine how ridiculous the whole idea would seem to him?! And he definitely has that side to him in the show.

And, really, again, thank you so much for coming along for the ride with this pairing and for liking this so much.

I was wondering how they were going to work, how the "cross-over" would work

Well, now . . . there is also this: A Scar That Looks Just Like You by waltzmatildah. And, if you want more, she and I each wrote one shots around Christmas. Let me know if you want links.

I can't believe you were worried that this was too fluffy! Okay, well, I guess I can given the sort of stuff we usually write! But still, it's so much more than fluff, I promise you that!

And I will be back later...

I'm VERY pleased that you think so! I suspect my fluff-meter may be wrongly calibrated, lol!

Okay, this isn't spectacular, but I find it irresistible and want to share it. Now I'm trying to imagine who took the picture! Outside of this fic (which, btw, I consider AU, because my canon for Katherine/Severide(TM) is entirely different!), I think it has to be Shay!

I think you're right about it having to be Shay who took the picture!! Yes, this is now fact.

She likes him.

It’s her worst weakness where he’s concerned.

At that, right there, sums everything between them up perfectly. It is exactly the position from which I 'read' these two. Perfect summation in two lines. Bravo.

At first, when you started talking about them having to leave straight away, I was like, well, surely they could hang around for a couple of years before people started to notice he wasn't getting older and then... But he was a fire department lieutenant and his body just disappeared from a hospital morgue. People will come: he needs to be gone by then. HAHAHAHA! YES! DUH, LEESA! DUH, DUH. Thank you for spelling out the obvious so that I could catch up ( ... )

Yes - for me too. I have parts of an emerging fic where this is prominent. Thank you!

surely they could hang around for a couple of years before people started to notice he wasn't getting older and then, etc:
Oh, don't worry. The whole daylight issue originally included a conversation about him wanting to go back to work and Katherine inquiring (sarcastically) whether they had a night shift. Until it occurred to me (the author!) that all his co-workers (and probably a reasonable percentage of Chicago, after the news report and the obituary, etc) think he's dead, so that wouldn't really work.

My standards for backstory and logic may not have been up to par here - ficathons tend to do that to me, haha!

THIS MAKES ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!!!

THERE IS MOAR COMING??!?!!!!??!

There is :) Slowly. Following on from Could I Be Anything You Want Me to Be (and its glorious companion piece). So far I've written lots of middle, but no beginning or end!

I LOVE that gif!

You know, I mostly watch Grey's now for Alex . . .
