Android App - Hiragana Cards [Free]

Mar 30, 2010 02:35

Found this app the other day and downloaded it to my new HTC Tattoo.

By Solnus. Landscape format [though Options/Menu goes both ways]. Like flash cards, shows you the Hiragana and gives you 4 options to choose from, if you get it right you move on, if you get it wrong the answer you chose goes grey and you have to try again.

If you click on Menu > Options you can change ‘Kana’ from Hiragana to Katakana and if you click on ‘Basic Kana’ [a down to ro, wa, (w)o, and n] underneath you can use the tick boxes to choose which Hiragana to include in the flash cards.

There's also an Extended Kana section in Options and you can add in the dakuon [ga, gi..] and handakuon, not sure if they have all of those last ones in or not, but yoon and yoon handakun are still do do.

Go to the Market via your phone and do a search for ‘Hiragana Cards’ and you should only get two results, this one and a paid app. It’s just been updated, there’s a score option but it says that it hasn’t been implemented yet, so more updates in the future.

Seems like a nice little app, but needs someone who knows all the Hiragana/Katakana to fully check it out.
