New Phone

Just got an HTC Tattoo mobile, the budget smart phone, so thought I'd try out the browser and keep my LJ account active by mentioning it here :)

Really like it so far! Will add in some comments on performance later.

EDIT: Brief review.

Recently got my HTC Tattoo mobile phone and so far really like it, it's a little slow to switch on from scratch and to load videos, but that's not an issue for me. I like the way it looks and how it's set up and I've had no problems with the touch screen, with or without a protector, and haven't even had to calibrate it.

As with the iphone you have several screens you can flip through and customize with apps, games or internet stuff like Twitter, email and includes a browser and youtube for quick access. Lots of free apps and games that were easy to download via the phone such as an ebook reader, a version of Jewel, dictionaries, a game where you’re a cow and aliens have abducted the rest of your herd, and a talking parrot. I’m having fun!

Camera is not very good.

I'm having a bit of trouble viewing photos from multimedia messages, but that might be because I got 3 at once, so will be trying that again. I also can't stop the damn graphics from re-sizing when I want to set them as wallpaper even if they’re the right size for the screen already, but none of that is putting me off.
The Tattoo has a nice sound for music especially if you use the headphones, and videos play nicely too as long as they're mp4, the Tattoo doesn’t support avi files.

I had to create my own Music, Photos and Videos folders on my 8GB memory card to add my files using the usb cable and videos don't have their own section, they're shoved in the album area with the photos. Battery life goes down pretty sharp-ish especially if you're messing with your widgets/videos or leave on wi-fi or gprs on, but you can charge via usb/computer or mains.

A few minor niggles but overall I’m very happy.
