After five time penalties between prelims and finals, I still managed to squeak out a win by cheating* in the last round of finals.  But still.  Five time penalties?  What's that?!?

How did you "cheat"? It's damn near impossible to cheat in a poetry slam. What the poop is going on?

It was the nickname that poem got after I won the Amnesty Invitational last year, Nigel threatened to break my legs before the last round.

I believe it. You could make a new religion off that poem. :)

It was awesome to meet you and see you perform. You earned that win, time penalties or not. (In fact, you could say that it's a mark of your strength as a poet, that you won despite them.)
