This weekend= Awesomeness. Well, maybe Friday night= awesomeness, but the rest of the weekend was definitely not bad.
Thursday night I went to a sorority crush. Like, whoa. Yeah, I know... you're thinking... "Dave, you're not a frat guy. What's going on here?" One of my friends from production had to invite 3 guys, so she invited three of us from production. We were the only non greek people there, so the three of us basically hung out the whole time. But, eh. All in all it was fun.
Friday went down to Tampa to see...... BRIGHT EYES! Of course, the show was good. FRONT ROW! Conor Oberst was practically spitting on me. I had a great time, it was great seeing Aaron, Katy, Miguel, Liz, Jamie, and Tia (even if it was just for like 10 minutes). There were some definite highlights of the show. Since Bush was in town, he had some stuff to say about that. And then there were some yuppie fucks behind us who were like, "Fuck you". Conor was like, "Whats that?" calling them out. They didn't say anything and he spit beer at them and was like, "Remember kids, I always win." Hilarious. There was an extremely annoying girl next to us. I felt like the oldest person there, which really sucked because I'm sure that most of the girls there were just there cause of how big of a "heart throb" he is. I dunno, he seemed to be just a caricature of an emo stereotype , even though musically and lyrically he writing is so much more advanced then pretty much any of the shit lumped into that category.
I'm listening to "Lifted..." right now. It is so much better than his new stuff. So much more diverse. I know he came out with an electronic and folk album at the same time, so individually each album sounds kinda the same. I wish he would have just combined them and gotten rid of some of the songs off each... it would have been a much better album, then the two separate.
Saturday drove over to Melbourne because my grandparents were in town from San Diego. We went to the Merritt Island animal refuge and saw birds and alligators. It was actually pretty fun. Went out to eat and watched a movie.
So that was the weekend. Drove back to tally today. Watched the superbowl.
