ah, monopoly.
first it pulls you together, then it tears you apart.
today i went to the
scottish national gallery of modern art and laughed at the damien hirsts. the best bit, though, was the "
landform" outside, which apparently you are allowed to play on. me and ruairi didn't, mostly because we were very hungover and wanted some glucose to stop

to save me replying to your journal too, and also because, like, nine million people have already replied there, your photos that are in that coffee shop are incredible.* the only thing more incredible than them is the fact that i guessed the second one was from the museum before i clicked it and saw the filename (i spend an inordinate amount of time there, wandering around, not really looking at anything). let's have a collective YAY! for edinburgh's many world-class museums and art galleries!
* they remind me of this exhibition i saw by the photographer yann-arthus bertrand, called "earth from the air". your photos are like his, only zoomed in a hundred million times. http://www.earthfromtheair.com/
wow i wrote a lot there

YAY I do love that museum and especially that fishy pool it makes me happy and calm. However, one of my all time favourite bits of the museum is currently missing which is Skeletons. It SAYS they're building it a new home, I just hope it's back and awesomer than ever soon. Other highlights of the museum include Ivy Wu gallery (china korea japan upstairs), jewellery, many stuffed animals, a bit of ship that says PRINCESS ALICE and weirdly enough the shop. it sells lots of cool things! like rhubarb rock and skipping ropes with cats on the ends and jelly sunflowers and 3d jigsaw triceratops and, yeah.
there used to also be a whale penis but I think it has gone. maybe it swam back to the sea to find its whale. it always did look a bit sad and dry.
*and wow, thank you for photo-love, that guy is really cool *proud*
