P.I.L.__ destroy public image.

Out of sight, out of mind. And so goes the collective mentality of our nations' citizens.

With the Presidential elections approaching it is a chance for us to "Show George The Door in 2004!" With this war and the attacks of 9/11, the republicans and other various right of this country tried as hard as possible to force themselves into denial and avoid any acknowledgement of all of the ugliness that the Bush administration is responsible for. Ever since 9/11, if anyone is to speak out against or critisize the Bush administration in anyway they would be deemed, "un-patriotic" or as a "pro-terrorist traitor." Since the tragic attacks in NYC and Washington D.C. occured, our nation has felt quite a bit like Iraq under Saddam's reign. In the since that there was a tangible fear to speak out against the president. Not knowing what the consequences could be. Right after the terrorist attacks, there were several pointless and dispecable acts of violence aimed at not only Americans with Middle Eastern heritages but also violence inflicted on liberals who critized Bush. The Dixie Chicks now infamous rants against Bush on-stage at one of there concerts is a perfect example. After Natalie Maines said, "I am ashamed that George Bush is from Texas," there was a wide-spread boycott against the Chicks and other artists such as country star, Toby Keith, started full out campaigns based on attacking the Chicks. Why? Don't these right-wing nazi's realize that the whole basis of this country was founded on the idea that you could disagree with the government, while at the same time be patriotic. If I didn't love my counrty and care about it, I wouldn't put forth the effort to even speak out. How anyone could be blind to the fact that "Dubya" is just an oil theif trying to make Papa proud, is beyond me. Bush used the collective grief of 9/11 and the fear of further terrorist attacks to manipulate the mass majority into rallying behind him. Like blind sheep, Bush got all of the right to back him on an invasion of Iraq. Where are the W.M.D.s Mr. Bush? Oh yeah, there never were any! Just another con job to get the publics approval for war.

Bush and all of the other Republicans want to fight a war that sheds no blood. These people (mass-majority) don't want to be burdened with images of civilian massacres or photographs of planes flying back from Iraq packed through and through with the coffins of young, dead, American soldiers. They would rather hold onto their romantic idea of "liberating" an oppressed country, that has been beaten down by an evil power. Not wanting to have to wake up and realize that the fact of the matter is, this "war" (invasion/occupation) could in fact be evil in its own right. Yes, Saddam was an evil dictator who did commit genocide against the Kurds and severly tortured his own people. He was, however, not a immediate threat to us. Bush couldn't give a rats ass about "liberating" the Iraqi people. He wanted there oil. With this war, Bush has been able to not only feather his own nest but fatten the wallets of all of his rich cronies by giving them highly sought after contracts to rebuild Iraq. One of the companys that won a contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars to rebuild Iraq, is a company that Vice President Dick Cheney is a CEO of.

I can go on and on about why this war is wrong and why Bush needs to be outed this November but I am not really the person to do so. Go to the Tower Theatre and check out Michael Moores new film, "Fahrenheit 9/11" and see the truth!
