This not reading my flist thing is not working out for me - I miss you all entirely too much - so I'm gonna...stop that now. Um, by which I mean I'm gonna start checking LJ again. Which I can do because I am now less sick and more caught up with school work (not healthy or caught up, but making progress in both areas). Woo!
This morning when I was watching last night's Supernatural, upon hearing Castiel's voice, my dad declared "that sounds like Kevin from The Office", and I can totally hear it now. This amuses me greatly, especially considering I'm not Castiel's biggest fan.
I haven't talked about Supernatural on here in quite a while, huh? It's safe to say I haven't really been a fan of the show for the past...two seasons. I spent a while being angry after most episodes because I used to love that show to bits and I just wasn't feeling it, but eventually I got over it and just stopped caring. I was resigned to having neutral-to-negatives feelings about it for the rest of the series, and that was okay. Yet somehow, S5 has made me have actual strong reactions and opinions again. Some things have made me mad (much of 5x03 pissed me off at first), but I must say, these last few episodes have given me tons of hope. It's starting to feel like the show I remember loving again and that's pretty exciting.
A big reason why I haven't posted about SPN is I didn't feel like harshing anyone's squee. I know I have a lot of Castiel lovers on my flist, and that's great, but I very much do not like him. [I do actually think Misha Collins is lovely, but that's beside the point]. Part of this is because I find the character boring and kind of a huge ass, but I'll admit that it's also because of how the show and the fandom have been changed by his presence. I've never cared about the mytharc of Supernatural, and honestly, I haven't really loved any character that wasn't Sam or Dean throughout the whole show. 90% of why I watch is for the Sam&Dean interactions, and anything else interesting that happens is just a bonus. This probably explains why I haven't been in love with the show in a while. But like I said, with the last three episodes, I'm starting to feel the love again. Tentative love, but still. :)
Huh. I didn't actually mean to post about Supernatural, and I still do have some reading to get through tonight, but I wanted to quickly mention two other things.
1. I finally finished BBC's Robin Hood and all I have to say is WHAT. Seriously, WHAT!?
2. My mom and I just bought tickets to the 2010 US Nationals Men's Figure Skating events AND I AM RILLY RILLY EXCITED. It's not til January, but still! Johnny Weir! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
*goes back to reading about math*
