I was imersed in sci fi when I was young. My mother was a trekkie. She worked nights so I would be in the living room in the afternoon. The blue jean curtains up so no light would filter in. A curtain blocking the hall so no sound would go back to bother her. wake her up early.
I had little film fests with star wars, star trek, and the dr who series. We taped the shows that were on late saturday nights on PBS. They were the compilation shows. so no commercial breaks, it was like 2-3 episodes.
Now on the BBCAmerica channel they are playing season 2 of Dr Who and season 1 of torchwood. I caught the season 3 finale of Dr Who. OMG!!! the face of bo. ALl I could say was big head in a jar. I shreiked so loudly that my daughter ran from her room to check on me. She got to see the Titanic crash into the tardis. now she is excited for season 4 to start up.
As for torchwood. OMG!! Captain Jack is beyond HoT!. A comment was made to the hubby about him. and his only comment was you can put him on your list. and i burst out laughing. ALl i could think was Ross Gellar on friends his laminated list and meeting Issabella ROsselini saying you are on my list, and him using a sharpie to put her on the laminated card stock.
In school I loved twin peaks, x-files, particualrly buffy the vampire slayer and angel (I<3 Spike) and most of the sci-fi available on regular stations.. never had cable until a few months ago.
So today on ravelry i read a forum thread with a link to
this article. My two TV loves together. and it sounds particularly steamy. I can't wait. Now.. when does season 2 begin. maybe it will be on SciFi network before the BBC America station..
My heart is all aflutter.
